Which one has caught your eye as a possible purchase, and why.
The PPQ
The Sig 320
The H&K VP9
The Ruger, "I don't put this one in the same category as the others"
The new Shield without the Safety
Or Something else, perhaps a Glock 30 S, or M&P, Bomberg, Sphinz?

The XDs 9mm 4.0 caught my attention. Purchased one.

The news about the striker fired Ruger LC9s is something I'm going to check out as well.

I have owned a PPQ for almost three years now and just adore it.

I pick up my VP9 Friday because I am an HK fan and got a great price on it. I did have a chance to handle and dry fire it with my first trip to my FFL to fill out the paperwork. Illinois waiting period however is 72 hours.

I am anxious to handle and try out the SIG P320/P320C because I am a huge SIG fan and have heard a lot of good things about it and like the concept.

Yes this is a great time to be in the market for a striker fired pistol.

I have fought and resisted as long as I can, but nagging back issues are forcing me to look at something lighter on my hip. I had narrowed my criteria to something in 17 - 19 ozs, 7 rounds of 9mm. I was pretty much committed to the Sig 938 when the Ruger LC9s was announced.

I've been carrying the SR9c for a number of years. It has been totally reliable, ergos are perfect and I shoot it well. If the LC9s is similar in feel but in a smaller package it makes sense to stick with Ruger... plus saves me quite a few bucks.

The SIG hold the least interest for me personally. I just don't see me and it having a future.

The 5" PPQ M2 would be the most practical I guess. I've been wanting to try something else other than my M&P 9L in competition and it seems like it would be a good match.

The HK VP9 looks good too, and I don't currently own an HK (I have at least one gun from every other company on the list), so it does hold a certain interest there, but it's a little ways further down on the wish list.

I bought the PPQ Mark 1. I love it. I would have considered the H&k except with the PPQ it seems redundant.

I gave serious consideration to the Shield, even to the point of selling an older pistol to fund the Shield purchase but held off. Now I'm rethinking that purchase. I still prefer DA/SA hammer fired pistols.

Shot a lot of hand guns in the last 18 months and purchased 6 pistols - 2 of them striker fired Glocks (A 26 and a 42) and I adore them. Still, my personal favorite gun is my Beretta Px4 SC which is DA/SA and hammer fired.

I like my Glocks but my favorite go to guns are all hammer fired autos or revolvers - probably due to my Appendix carry style.

VooDoo

Hk vp9
Sig p320 carry
I bought a ppq m2 last year and love it. As a matter of fact it's almost been my exclusive carry gun. I like it so much I am still debating on adding a 5" ppq to the stable. It's just a matter of which gun appeals to me most when I handle them I guess

I'm personally eyeing the P320 and a M&P pro.

If I had someone that would buy my safety equipped shield, I'd pick up one without a safety. But since I've spent time on the trigger and know it's been 100% that'll probably never happen.

If I knew how accurate the 320 is compared to a pro then I'd have it narrowed down a little more. I like the feel of the 320, and would invest in a small "frame" just to see how that felt compared to the med frames I've handled.

The pro I know how well it feels and better still how well I can shoot it.

Or maybe I'd just rather get a CZ p-09. :p

I am leaning toward a PPQ maybe the "Navy", only because the new HK seems a bit larger than I wanted. The Sig is reasonable as far as money goes, I just haven't seen one yet.
After going in a big circle I picked up another Glock 30, only in the "S", which really is an ideal gun. I loaded up 11 rounds of that "Liberty Civil Defense" ammo. It weighs nothing, 78 grain bullet coming out of a 45. Only good for 25 yards from every test I read, but I have some in 9 in my carry also, but I carry 2 spare mags with all my guns, just in case.
Now it's time for a new striker fired 9mm.
I wish the CCP would come out already.

The one that I was most interested in (and recently bought) was the M&P CORE. I've used red dots on rimfire pistols for a while but wanted to try one on a centerfire. I also wanted to have the option to co-witness the irons in case something happened to the sight. The CORE does that for me out of the box. An aftermarket or custom milled Glock/M&P slide could get you a little lower mount, but having the ability to swap optics down the road made the CORE stand out. While the first thing I've come to do with any M&P I've owned is swap out at least the sear for an APEX sear, this gun doesn't need it. It could use a smoothed out firing pin safety, but once past it the trigger comes to a firm wall and breaks real crisp in the 5-6lb range. For a range gun I'd like to lighten it a little, but it really feels like the pull on most of the production firing pin safety model 1911's made today. I never thought I'd say that about an M&P trigger. I guess I may have just won the M&P lotto on this specific one.

The VP9 had my interest but really didn't do anything for me that a Glock 19 doesn't do. If I weren't invested in a mid sized 9mm it would be more of an interest, but for me personally I have that role covered.

The Sig P320 was a bit of a let down. Didn't shoot it so no final verdict but it didn't do anything to stand out.

The shield is nice to see, but the change in the safety isn't enough to get me or keep me from buying one. Just not in the market now for a slim, small 9mm. That covers the LC9s as well. Just not looking for a small single stack 9.

Walther seems to do things well but for one reason or another aren't high on my personal list. Maybe it's a lack of use with them or limited local availability. Just never caused a desire though they seem like a decent gun.

The Glock 42 is one that still ranks high on my polymer striker fired list. I shoot that pistol as well or better than any other small single stack I've owned. Now that I've been able to get Pearce grip extensions for the 42 mags, the gun is in an entirely new league. So easy to shoot when I get a better grip on the thing. .380 may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoy shooting it, let alone carrying it.

Greatest hits.....

If time & $$$ were not issues, Id buy these pistols in the next few weeks/months;

Glock 23 gen 04 .40, Glock 41 .45acp, Glock 42 .380acp
M&P .40S&W full size(with safety), M&P Shield 9x19mm(no thumb safety), M&P .45acp FDE format 4.5" barrel with safety
XDs .45acp 4" barrel or 4.0 version
Bersa Concealed Carry 9mm(OD green frame)
Beretta Nano 9mm with night sights & add on FDE frame
SIG Sauer P290RS 9x19mm
Walther PPQ M2 long slide in 9x19(maybe .40)
FNS long-slide in 9x19mm

I like the look & feel of the long-slide style pistols but the regular duty size is fine too. It's important for the loaded, polymer frame pistol to feel balanced or even in the grip. Some models like HK, SIG-Sauer, etc do this better than others. You do get what you pay for with US firearms sometimes .

Davidson's lifetime warranty is a good motivator for sales, IMO. Some weapons like M&Ps or Glocks need some minor TLC or custom work to get them on track.

I saw a great offer on a Ruger SR40 full size(with stainless slide) & a Davidson's plan for only $400.00. It was a local FFL holder too. :D

PS; I heard the new Glock 42s had some factory changes so try & find the latest format when you look at them. Gun shop clerks or managers may be unaware too.

I picked up a Sig P320 this week only shot it a little ( 100 rounds ) so far love it

Been waiting to commit to something smaller. Currently have a SR9c and I've been looking at an LC9. The LC9s has my attention, glad I waited. Guess I might as well wait a little longer and make sure the bugs are worked out.

If no the LC9s then the Shield might get the nod.

I just got a PPQ M2, that gun will make a decent shot out of anybody.

For the manufacturer it's the least expensive trigger/ignition system, so everything else being equal it puts more money in they're pocket.

Don't plan to buy one because I prefer revolvers, but should a deal come along...

I have an H&K VP9 pre-ordered and hope to have it soon. I'm a big HK guy, first of all. Second I did get to fondle one and it feels awesome. Very very similar ergonomically to the P30 which is maybe my favorite handgun (and primary CCW). It even uses the same mags as the P30 and I have a dozen already. So far I have only dry fired it but I feel the trigger is the best striker fired I have ever felt. The PPQ is about neck and neck trigger wise to me. But I can't find the M2 version around here, and I will never go back to the American style mag release button; the paddle release is vastly superior to me.

I snagged a Sig 320 about a month ago on impulse. After more careful inspection I had a bit of buyer's remorse, under the hood it just wasn't a "Sig". But I could not ignore the reason I bought it in the first place; amazing (for me) ergonomics.

So, rather than selling it and taking a loss, figured may as well go shoot it. That sealed the deal, I really like the pistol. Considering it was $600 out the door (9.5% sales tax here), the value is there. Nothing against Glock but I prefer the 320 in every way to my G17, other than availability of accessories.

VP9 is going to be my next purchase. I have a P30L and the ergonomics fit my hand better than any pistol I have ever owned. The VP9 is similarly designed and I don't own a striker fired pistol. The reviews out on this gun say the trigger system is really nice. HK quality and customer service is unquestionable in my book based on my experience.
