My wife recently picked up a G42 as her new CCW gun. However, she is not fond of the stock sights. After using various pistols of mine with different sight set-ups, she has settled on a night front/plain black rear combo.

My question is this- does anybody know of a maker that has that set-up? My google-fu does not work that well. I am also open to buying the required parts separately if somebody can help me find them.

Thanks everybody for hopefully helping me keep the wife happy.

Not sure if they're making them for the 42 yet, but all my handguns wear Dawson Precision sights. It'd be the first place I checked.

You might check out the AmeriGlo I-Dots, they make them for all other Glocks so they may make them for the 42. The rear vial is very unobtrusive except a night when you need it. They are really the best compromise between day and night use sights I've found.

I put Tru Glo TFO'S, yellow rear and green front, on my G42. They are incredibly bright in daylight and at night. The green front sight is easy to pick up regardless of light conditions.

Thanks guys! I'll check Dawson. All my guns wear 10-8 sights, but I couldn't find what the wife wanted there.

The TFOs are definitely out. They are not the set-up that the wife specified for me to put on.

It's a wise man who lets his wife pick her own shooting gear! So many guys buy a gun for their spouse, choose the ammo for her, and then wonder why there's no interest in shooting...

My pick....

Id suggest the steel sights from Trijicon. They now market the HDs in the Glock 42 .380acp pistol. Many gunners suggest green since it's the brighest(longest lasting), but I like the orange-green combo. :D
See www.Trijicon.com .

Brownells.com is a great resource for parts & sights. They have a lot. Lenny Magill's website; Glockstore.com is tops too. ;)
Id also suggest Morgan Boatman's www.Customizeyourglock.com & www.boatmanbooks.com .

I'll confess to buying my Wife a G42 and in suggesting she try it. She had shot so many other guns that just didn't quite work out and had shot so many that worked out pretty well that as soon as I heard about the G42 I thought of her.

Basically she loves our G26 but it's just too wide for her small hands to get a proper grip on and the 9mm recoil and texture beat her up *just* enough that she set it aside. We shot the LGS owners G42 when it arrived at my request (I set up the "meeting") and she was hooked.
When she got her own G42 she was officially hooked - she still beams and is thrilled with herself and the choice every time she shoots it. So, she picked it as her favorite after I bought her one/set it up for her to shoot one.

Possibly the only time in history I was astute enough to figure out what she needed by trying everything else that didn't work. :D

Excellent suggestions for sights in this thread - the only thing she wants to upgrade about the gun is to get better sights.
