Hey guys,

Quick question for you gunsmiths.
Instead of purchasing the trigger stirrup die from Brownells (http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-t...ls/1911-auto-trigger-stirrup-die-prod788.aspx), I wanted to know if any of you had one and could do a trigger for me?

I have an older 1911 trigger that needs to be put on the die, but I don't want to pay the money just to use it for 1 trigger for my gun.

Anyone help?

Many thanks guys.

My advice would be to simply buy a quality oversize trigger and fit it to your gun. A rehammered factory trigger will never fit as well as a custom fit one. With all of the triggers now on the market no one I knows stills reforms stock triggers with a die. Now if you are talking abut a vintage WW I gun - good luck buying original parts. Folks are getting stupid prices for parts that cost the Govt. pennies to make.

Thanks for the answers guys!

It's a WW2-style milled short trigger with the knurled front which I LOVE. I have another in my existing gun, but this one has the relief cutout on the bow, that's why I want to swap it in, but it's deformed on the "rails" and also on the backside, almost looking bent to one side on the backside where the relief cutout is.

I've tried what you guys have suggested, and it helped to get the magazines to go up and down it, but it's still bent in in places I cannot bend it back out (esp. the rear near the backside).

If you guys have the jig, I'd appreciate it, otherwise it's $25 down the drain for one friggin' trigger, along with the extractor tension adjuster I bought.

I've got one and I'll take a look at your trigger if you want. No guarantees that it can be fixed. I'll have to have it in hand to make a determination. Some can be easily repaired, some take more work, and some not at all. If you want we can swap info via pm.
