The PCR is one darn fine weapon.

Yes it is.

The P-01 is not bad either, but the PCR is my first choice.

I have a P-09 coming next week. We will see where that falls and lands in the grand scheme of CZ things.

I went to a LGS (well hour and a half drive) with a friend, and they had a nice selection of CZ's. I am a big 75 fan, but I have to say the P-07, and P-09 also looked interesting to me. I am sure you'll be very happy with it. I am also contemplating which CZ to get next as I have the PCR, and 75B plus Kadet Kit which seems to be extremely hard to come by these days.

I already have a PCR and a P-01. Both are awesome weapons. Was wanting something a little bigger for general "range" use here on the farm. Almost picked up a BD from a boy locally(and might still), but found this P-09 NIB delivered to me for cheaper than my LGS could order it at his cost. So, I thought we would give it a try.

I just switched out my decocker for the cocked-and-locked safety. My girlfriend has a thing against DA autos - can't honestly figure out what her hangup is. Anyways, the safety is very positive, ambidextrous, and easy to change back to decocker if you choose. I don't have very big hands, so the safety isn't as easy to disengage as my 1911...but when it's being used as a bedside gun, I can have it cocked and locked for my girlfriend - and when I CC, I can lower the hammer with one in the chamber and use the DA pull (which I prefer on the first shot).

Great gun with a lot of great options. I'll probably never use the accessory rail, but again, the option is nice.

I went the other way and switched from safety to decocker. My P07 isn't as accurate as the 75 compact I owned but it is close. The P07 is now my nightstand gun.

I have mixed feelings on the P07.

Pros: Price, general design, reliability, trigger, feel, mag capacity, innovative ability to switch from decocker to safety.

Cons: Cheap sight paint, flimsy feeling safty, requirement to switch from safety to decocker.

Let me clarify that last point. WHY design it so you have a choice? Why not instead do what the H&K or Taurus PT809 which incorporates both features - up is safe/middle is fire/down is decock.

The 'safety' on all 3 of my samples felt like a wet noodle. The smallest of pressure would move it down into 'fire' - so it was basically not adequate due to no positive engagement.

I think these were sub-$400 guns, so an excellent bargain choice. But not my top choice by any measure.

The new P-07 looks to be an awesome pistol. I gave it some serious thought but ended up asking my FFL guy to order a PCR that is hard to find that I hope to pick up by the end of the week. Still wouldn't mind having a P-07 or even a P-09 for a range gun.

Will

Wise choice on the PCR. As said before, it is a great gun. You will enjoy it.

You were probably missing the detent... when I swapped to the safety on mine, I had the same experience until I noticed that a tiny little piece had fallen out during the swap... it was the detent that regulates the tension on the safety, and it easily comes out. Luckily it was sitting on the table top when I was done and I figured something didn't feel right so I started looking around youtube, and sure enough I had to take the safety back out and put the detent in. After that, clicks are very positive.

I don't actually use the safety, but the decocker lever interferes with my grip, and the safety lever is much flatter against the frame and doesn't bother me.

Bingo.

When I switched mine out, there was no audible "click" when engaging/disengaging the safety, so I knew something was wrong. All of a sudden, a tiny piece of plastic (or maybe metal, I couldn't tell) and an itty-bitty spring fell onto my table.

I freaked, and was pretty sure I had just botched my new gun. After some youtubing, I found that it was the detent and detent retaining spring. I popped it back in, and now my safety is very positive and hold nice tension.
