Does anyone have a method or tutorial that would help me learn how to paint a gun in multi-cam?

I'm using Cerakote and an airbrush.

I've seen some YouTube videos and tried following their methods but my project keeps looking muddled and can't pass for multi-cam.

I've used bulldogarms stencils but getting the different colors to blend together is my weak spot...

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Steve

start with a sample piece of plywood, or um a big chunk of tree branch, get the style you want to find and go from there.

Look at the camo you like, find the first paint layer or the one that looks like it's in the back ground or on the bottom. work your layers up from there to the final top layer.

good luck sounds like fun

be safe

I did this, using this method.

I started with a tan base coat, then added a brown fade. Then I applied stencils, trying to preserve tan/ brown transitions, and be random. I over sprayed with three greens. Then I went back with masks and added the dark brown and the off white accents.

It was very labor intensive.

Wow, that looks good. I'm used to using stencils so doing the masking is not a practice I'm used to. I have to experiment. My buddy wants his $2000 dollar AR upper (50 cal) painted mutli cam, so I can't mess it up. It's got to be just right.

Thanks

If it were me, I would practice some on some scrap metal or maybe even cardboard, til you perfect your pattern.

I didn't practice, I just went for it. There are some refinements I'll make next time. I did this with rattle cans. An airbrush would be way better.
