For me it is a bust for the early season. I went out on the first day and had one shot and one down. That was it . Today I went out and nothing. This time last year I had over 100. I hunt the Tonto north of Mesa, I imagine the hunters by the dairies are limiting out.

Strange how it goes from year to year. The last bad year like this was 2010 for me.

Bagged five this evening. The birds are flying fast and low. I'll bet I let two limits go by while looking in the other direction and about ten more that got into the creosotes before I could shoot. Large leads at 30 yards were the name of the game. I did manage to pull down doubles on two head-on birds. I saw them fly towards me, I popped up from my cover and they banked together, got em both. It was a fun night for sure. Good luck where you're at..

I'll bet the storms forced most of the white wing farther south out there however the morning dove should be around there yet. I went out opening morning and had my limit within the first hour or so, out here in Laughlin area, by the Indian Reservation. I haven't been out since opening morning though.

Haven't bagged a white-wing yet, only mourning doves. Maybe they'll be around for the late hunt.

I just might go out on the last day. I like hunting early, pre dawn. Nothing like the smell of powder in the morning.

It might sound ridiculous for dove hunting, but even though we are infested with dove, we still go out a few days prior to the start of season and scout some spots, mostly in an effort to get away from the crowd.

This year has been no different than the last 12 or so years, both early and late season, we have an unbelievable number of them. White wings have been good this season, with about 1/2 of the birds being WW, it has been another great opener.
