Found a steel frame for 1861 Navy 36 cal. by replica arms.

Anybody know the likelihood this being of Uberti manufacture ?

Thanks in advance

If it is an Uberti, it should have an Uberti mark, the "U" surrounded by an Octagon.
Is it something you can inspect, or are you just working with a picture or description?

My Replica Arms (Marietta, Ohio) 1861 Navy is made by Uberti and is a tight as the day I bought it back in about 1968. I've probably put 2-3000 rounds through it.

Yep, Replica Arms are Ubertis. They were imported by Replica Arms of Marietta, Ohio as previously stated.

I have an 1861 Navy that my Dad bought back in 1970. They are really nice and you may notice the color case hardening is exceptionally nice on these. Mine is a great shooter and is really gorgeous. I wouldn't sell it for anything.

You should definitely grab it if you haven't already.

Here's mine.

Replica Arms also imported Pietta's, I'm not sure about any other manufactures, but I took a peek at the pictures and they looked more like Uberti than Pietta to me.

Your hoping to fit it to an Uberti I take it?

Malachi, yours is the first mention I have ever heard of Replica Arms (Marietta) importing Pietta built firearms. I know they brought in ASMs and Uberti's but have never seen a Pietta with the Replica Arms (Marietta) stamp. I would like to hear more about any you have knowledge of.

If you are only interested in Marietta Ohio marked pieces I can't Help, But I have 2 Pietta Brass Framed midget Dragoon type 44's that are marked with the Replica Arms RA logo, Both Marked "Navy Arms" on the Barrel. One from '74 & one from '75. The one from '74 came in a presumed to be original (with matching serial number) Replica Arms Box. But both were obviously purchased after the acquisition by Navy Arms.

Here is a pic of the "Who Knows What it's Supposed to Be" one from '75

The 2 "Replica Arms" marked 1860 44's I also referenced that are Uberti's, are marked Marietta Ohio.

Thank you for clarifying the information. Once Navy Arms bought out RA, things started to go downhill.

I have been using a pair of Replica Arms (Marietta) 1861s since about 1971 and they are still outstanding revolvers. I have several other RA(M) revolvers and like them also.
