I found some relatively cheap pulled 7.62x54R military fmj bullets and was wondering if it is possible to run them through a sizing die so they could be loaded for 7.5 French MAS. They are magnetic. Would doing this tear the jacket off? I don't mind work if it saves money , but is this a fools errand? Thanks !

Probably not prudent.

Steel jackets not withstanding.
Even more mailable copper jacket bullets will suffer from resizing through a push-through die.

The reason being that the soft lead core will not spring back as much as the harder jacket when it comes out of the die.

That leaves the core loose inside the jacket.
Which will not help accuracy at tall.

When the bullets are swaged to shape when they are made, they are swaged to shape inside a bullet shaped forming die that keeps everything from squishing out in all the wrong directions.

It might be possible to do it.
But don't expect spectacular accuracy from the result.

Is it possible to trade them with another reloader in your area? Usually it's harder to find good .310" bullets than .308" bullets.

If not locally you might try this forums classifies section and try trading them here...
What is the weight of those bullets?

I tried running one through a sizing die, but it took a tremendous amount of effort to push it through, even with lube, and it only reduced the OD by .001" - not enough.

I bought a bunch of Fiocchi brass 7.62x39 so I could reload for my old Mini 30, I'll just shoot it up in my SKS. (My AK dents the casings).

I did not buy the bullets, just found them online and thought that at .07 cents before shipping I might be able to make some cheap .308's. Below is the link for anyone interested. $180 per 2500 piece can.

WARNING! Those bullets are marked "tracer" but according to the vendor they don't trace but act like an incendiary round. Every range I shoot at will not allow tracer or incendiary ammo for the obvious reasons...

They are cheap but what good if you can't shoot them?

The steel jacket won't 'spring back' at all.
.310" bullets are likely seconds. Nothing uses a .310" bullet. Undersized for a 7.62 x 54 or 39 and .303 Brit. Oversized for .308" cartridges.
