Id like some sources for 922c Ak magazine floor plates. So far Ive only been able to find them at KVAR, which seems on the expensive side. If anyone knows of another source, especially a small business I'd like to know.

I'll be the first to jump in and admit I don't know what a 922c floor plate is. Do you mean a 922r floor plate or is this something different? What requirement are you trying to achieve or is this something that only fits a specific AK variant?

Assuming you mean 922r compliant floor plates, what kind of magazine do they need to fit into?

Im trying to figure out ways to avoid exceeding a maximum of 10 imported parts on my AK underfolder. I will be replacing a bolt carrier-gas piston assembly that is welded and causing issues, (currently foreign bolt carrier and american gas piston) and replacing it with a foreign bolt carrier and properly pinned foreign gas piston. This switch will increase my foreign parts, so I need to replace another foreign part with a US part to maintain 922compliance. Ive thought about replacing the handguards, but think that replacing the magazine floor plates with US ones would be cheaper.

They will need to fit foreign surplus steel magazines from various countries of origin

I would change the hand guards. AKs were given away to countries that didnt like us during the cold war, have been copied by a lot of companies in a lot of different countries...

I ordered 6 surplus magazines for mine from one vendor. Three were the same, the other three unique. In the process of cleaning out cosmoline, I found that "this" floorplate wouldnt fit "that" magazine, even though they looked identical...

So I took all of the mags apart, and engraved a number into the tube, follower, and floorplate.

^^^ Yep. My experience mirrors Zach. Too many variables with mags from different sources. The hand guard would be one and done. Plus it is always with the gun. No worries with picking up another non-converted mag and blowing your parts count.
