Browning B-92

Numrich carries original parts. They show out of stock for the Browning version, but in stock for the Winchester (Japan). Since both rifles were made at the Japanese Miroku plant, I would imagine parts like this are identical.

However, they are outrageously priced. The sight is $53 and the separately sold sight elevator is $20.

Marbles would probably be cheaper--probably under $30 for the whole assembly. Both Brownell and Midway stock Marbles products and besides, I'm pretty sure that Miroku is already using Marbles front sights on their lever guns anyway.

I've got a Winchester Miruko Model 92 16" and hated the adjustable windage sight that it came with, I ordered this dovetail semi-buckhorn and it's pretty darn accurate. I've gotten a few grouse with it and lots of plinking.

I also just ordered the same one in a 20" barrel so a 2nd semi-buckhorn sight will be quickly in toe as well.

I very much like the aperture sight I put on my 92, makes it one of my favorite guns. I understand many people don't want to drill and tap their receivers. But for shooting the thing, it can't be beat.

Personally, I like just the factory sight on mine. If you need a better picture of it, just let me know and I'll take one for you.

Certainly. If those are the published lengths, mine would have the 2 3/4". It's actually closer to 3" when measuring all the way to the rear face of the sight. 2 3/4" is what you probably want to order. Come to think of it, I measured from the point of the base on the muzzle end... the correct measurement should probably be from the dovetail. So, 2 3/4" would be about exact. (About and exact don't really go together, but it sounds about right. )

oooooooohhhhh. gorgeous. I want one. Best looking rifle I have seen in a long time that wasn't a multi-thousand dollar show piece.

I had the rear sight removed and a blank installed at the same time, so I don't know if the rear sight would have been in the way or not.

Maybe I could find my rear sight and send it to you, I'll look today. Don't get your hopes too high, I've moved four times over the years since I had it done, and I have a lot of crap.

No luck, need two Kodak slide projectors? I don't know whether to call my son and apologize in advance for all the junk he'll have to throw out when I expire, or call the show "Hoarders" and ask for help.

What kind of sighting arrangement did your 92 have when you bought it? They must had had something to replace the rear sight, right?

Just as an fyi, I bought my 92 (picture above) from a very close friend - a retired Browning gunsmith, who had it NIB since 1981. He picked it out specifically because it had fairly nice wood, which he said was uncommon with these rifles. Apparently, if you have nice wood, it's pretty unique, because most of it was very plain.

Well, that sucks! Repairable, I hope, but if not, you can at least find replacement stocks at a reasonable cost.

I bought front and rear sights for my Rossi M92 from Steve at Steve's Gunz. It was shooting at least 8"-10" high at 50 yards and after talking with him, he recommended these as they should put me on target (and did): rear, low semi-buckhorn http://store.stevesgunz.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20_26&products_id=38 and front, large brass bead http://store.stevesgunz.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21_24&products_id=28. The sights are not really sold as higher fronts or lower rears, but the front is slightly taller by a few thousandths, and the rear is likewise lower by a few. Taken together it got me back on the bullseye.

They look great, fit the Rossi "ballpark-machined" dovetails, and are quality through and through. You probably won't need the taller front, but you can correct shooting low with the elevator, which I could not since it was already at the lowest setting. Take a gander at them, hope you get things squared away - good luck!
