Kerry has told so many lies about throwing somebody else's medals during a 1971 anti-war protest in Washington D.C. that he seems to have confused even himself.

At this point one has to wonder if there isn't some sort of serious mental problem behind Kerry's behavior. Lying to this extent just isn't normal, even for a politician. And what does this say about Kerry's fitness to occupy the Oval Office?

1971 VIDEO: KERRY ADMITS THROWING OWN MEDALS; CONTRADICTS CURRENT CLAIMS

In an interview published Friday in the LOS ANGELES TIMES, Dem presidential hopeful John Kerry claimed he "never ever implied" that he threw his own medals during a Hill protest in 1971 to appear as an antiwar hero.

But a new shock video shows John Kerry -- in his own voice -- saying he did!

ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA is set to rock the political world Monday morning with an airing of Kerry's specific 1971 boast, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

The video was made by a local news station in 1971.

It directly contradicts Kerry's own website headline: "RIGHTWING FICTION: John Kerry threw away his medals during a Vietnam war protest."

Kerry's campaign refused comment Sunday afternoon, citing a policy not to respond to the DRUDGE REPORT.

Are you not allowed to order replacement medals for awards you've recieved. I'm assuming that if your uniform jacket got stollen. or if you spilled spagetti sauce on your ribbons, or if you just wanted a second set for a second jacket you could just order replacements.

I always figured Kerry had had a spare set that he threw.

Kerry's usual story was that he tossed somebody else's medals over the wall....not his own. Can you say, "Psycho?" He's got more explanations than Clinton could come up with.

Somebody we know told some whoppers and spent 8 years in the WH. Something about a blue dress.....

There is a copy of a GMA interview on Drudge...

Amazingly enough, they hold him to task for changing his story based on who he is speaking to....kudos to GMA

Predictably, Kerry tries to have it both ways and sinks to bringing up The Presidents national Guard service.

I am not sure Kerry is smart enough to be a good liar..can't keep it all straight...the truth might be easier...if he knows what that actually is.

Rush spent the first half hour of his show talking about how Kerry has flipped his story on this (any surprised) because he was caught in a lie by Peter Jennings of all people. Apparently Charlie Gibson continued to question him this morning on the subject.

Ribbons, medals, blah, blah. Semantics. Plenty of legitimate reasons to attack Kerry, but for some reason we're focused on trivial matters of military uniform nomencature.

fix,

Yes it is trivial.

It is the age old game of "gotcha." It can be cured by simply admitting that you were wrong and setting the record straight. It speaks to integrity and character.

It is the WJ Klinton dilemma: "it was OK that he lied, it was only about sex." Well, when the CLEO of the USA lies under oath, then we have a problem.

Come clean and be done with it.

I agree, but the core issue is irrelevant. His character issues can also be exposed by discussing real issues. The "My family owns the SUV, not me!" moment comes to mind, as does the infamous "voted for it, before I voted against it" quote. John Kerry is thrilled that you all want to keep Vietnam in the forefront. It makes it easier for him to compare Iraq to VN when VN is already in the forefront of the debate. Take VN out of the debate and all he can say is "I'm not Bush!!!"

In and of itself the contradictory statemens on medals are trivial.

In and of itself the contradictory statemens on SUVs are trivial.

In and of itself the contradictory statemens on funding the war in Iraq are trivial.

In and of itself the contradictory statemens on abortion are trivial.

In and of itself the contradictory statemens on gasoline prices are trivial.

In and of itself the contradictory statemens on gay marrage are trivial.

In and of itself the contradictory statements on his military service and commendations are trivial.

In and of itself the contradictory statements and actions with respect to attrocities he witnessed in VN are trivial.

In and of itself the contradictory statemens on how he would couduct the war in Iraq is trivial (well may not trivial on that one).

In and of itself the contradictory statemens (and votes) on gun ownership are trivial.

But taken all together it becomes completely clear that the only thing you can be confident WRT anything that comes out of Kerrys mouth is that it is exactily what he thinks you want to hear; completely undiluted by anything that vaguely resembles a core belief held by Kerry.

To golgo-13 and everyone else who thinks it doesn't matter, I think it does matter, and it matters very much! The NOTA candidate will not be elected in November. Period. It will be Bush or Kerry. Well, maybe the Hilde-beast after the July Democratic Convention melts down....:what:
But either way, it will not be NOTA. Therefore, you have to vote and you have to vote in the best interests of this country. Bush is a whole long way from perfect but Kerry is a disaster waiting to happen.

Weren't the main reasons they chose Kerry was that he seemed "safe" and "electable"?

Think they wish they had Howard Dean back?

Huh. Combativeness with the press one one big reason Dean was deemed "unelectable". Funny that Kerry seemed pretty darn testy both on MTP last week and this morning on GMA.:D

Calling a Secret Service agent "that SOB that knocked me down" doesn't sound too "electable" either.

ABK - Anybody But Kerry!

Ya' gotta love it! Kerry is melting down faster than an ice cream cone in Phoenix in July.

Can you hear it??? Can everyone hear it???

It's the sound of millions of "I hate Bush" lefties in anguish.

YAAARRRRRGGGGGGGUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHH

Oh, one thing.

All of Kerry's flip-flops are very important. They are indicative of his character, or lack thereof. A person who cannot stand by their convictions is not a leader at all, but a pawn of the latest public opinion poll.

If a leader changes their mind they should admit why they are doing so, their reason for the change, and explain their new position. They should not change their minds often.

Kerry's changes everytime the wind blows a little differently.
