It's a little rough, but it's made to be a worker knife, not a case queen. The accidental knick on the top edge really pissed me off when it happened, lol.

440c with Purpleheart handle. Just something simple to work on and practice.

Good lookin' user! I hope that it's the first of many for you.

Where did you find 400C?

I buy 440c from Texas knife makers supply here in Houston.

They only air quench so I use that for now

Really nice! I've practiced on a few saw blades, and feel comfortable enough to get onto some nicer steel. I hope my first blade is as good as your's.

I was going to say 'very nice for a first attempt', but that almost sounds insulting. It's more like 'that's your first attempt at making a knife? holy cow, nice job!'

I sought it out after I saw your last build. I love that one. I'm copying it lol. Don't be mad, be flattered, lol

I really like the third one!
You are getting better by leaps & bounds!!

Now, time to get fancy!
Taper the tang on the next one!

It's way easier then grinding the blade.

Just a little hotter is all.
But it doesn't matter.
As long as your leather gloves don't shrivel up tight on your fingers and burn your fingerprints off! :what:

(Rope edge done with a chain-saw file, then buffed.)
