Summer, and backpacking H&K USP .45 C

Winter, Springfield XD-357

In the summer and in the backcountry I carry the USP. That pistol has been through stream crossings, torrential rain, heat, snow, and mud. I have never had a malfunction in that weapon.

In the winter I put a premium on penetration and due to bulkier clothes I can carry a larger pistol, so my XD-357 Service Model is my carry in the winter.

Does anyone else do something like this?

Beretta 96a1, and am looking to add a pocket pistol for summer next year. Probably will be a px4 subcompact in 40s&w.

Kudos, 96a1 is a big gun. Every now and then I'll carry a SIG 226 9mm, if the XD or USP need a cleaning. Heavy gun, small bullets lots of accuracy; but heavy gun, uncomfortable to carry concealed.

How do you manage the 96a1?

The 96a1 does indeed define the "full size" handgun category. I really like it, and don't have a problem carrying it with the cooler weather. If I don't feel like carrying it on me I put it in a carry bag that doesnt leave my body.

I have carried a Glock 30sf, and Glock 23. No longer own those as I decided that for me it makes more sense to carry either a full size, subcompact, or pocket pistol. Have gone through other pistols throughout the years, and that's my conclusion. I do prefer full size, and a carry bag makes a full size pretty easy. In conclusion, I'll add that if you see a guy carrying a 'man purse' assume the dude is packing.

G23 but recently I've been sporting a SIG 938. Winter's around the corner...

Glock .40 S&W chambered combat pistols most of the time. Kahr .40 S&W chambered single stack sub compact CM 40 when conditions will not permit the larger Glock!:D

Primary: Glock 30SF in Alien gear IWB, Surefire Backup

Casual carry or quick trips in daytime: Ruger LC9

Bear country out West or AK: S & W 29 4" with buffalo bore 300 grain +P+

Randomly either a Springfield Loaded 1911A1 with trijicons or a 1966 S&W Model 10-5. Also have a Ruger LCR .38 in the pocket at all times. I own a Glock 26 and it does conceal well and hold more rounds than the larger guns but I rarely carry it for whatever reason. I think a longer grip feels more "sure" to me as far as having to grab and draw under stress.

Haven't been carrying for too long compared to some, about 7 years, but for what its worth this is where evolution has brought me. I've carried a lot of different stuff, some new fangled like a Glock 19/M&P9/SR9C, but I always gravitate back to a couple classics, because they plain old work.

Walther PPS all the time. We don't have winter.

I'd like to be able to rely on my Kahr P380 when attire so dictates, but the gun has been nothing but an unending headache for me. I hope the Beretta Pico ends up being a winner (and is released during my lifetime).

Kahr K9 in summer, K40 in winter. Kahr CW380 in a pocket on occasion.

I think your HK USP C in .45 is pretty good for any season. You could always choose hotter loads if you need to worry about winter clothes.

Note: not that I find anything wrong with wanting more than a single firearm choice!

Mostly carry Taurus Poly Protector 38 +p. Just bought SCCY CPX2 9mm gonna give it a try, works well at the range.

Walking around in the woods or for truck carry/back up: sp101
Winter carry if I can dress around it: 92fs
Most everyday when I need a comfortable invisible gun: pocket .380 like an LCP or my new m&p Bodyguard.

Overly hot weather: Glock 30S or Ruger LCR .38 +P
Lounging Saturday (athlethic shorts or sweatpants): Ruger LCR

Everything else: Either a Glock 21 or 1911, depending on my mood that month.
