Show us a picture of your reloading bench

cgrutt,
Now that's a bench.
First rate.
Do you have the drawings and plans for it to share?

Nickb45,
What is all that stuff?
For a business or a runaway hobby?
Thanks. I would share them if I had them but just did everything as I went along. The cabinets are 3/4 birch ply faced off with cherry. Top is 8/4 tiger maple. I had the wood left over from a vacation home that I had to sell last year otherwise it would have been 2x4s lol...

cgrutt, this is a knife that I am in the process of finishing. I used aquafortis, which has nitric acid in it to bring out the figure of the maple. The scales are birds eye maple that had the eyes on the edge. You have to apply it and then heat it to make it react to the sugar in the maple. It would make your bench top jump out at you. I used it on a muzzle loader that I made almost 30 years ago.

Thanks that's a beautiful knife! I actually considered doing that. I dyed the wood yellow and sanded it out then used a BLO/Spar Varnish/Japan Drier mix on the top. Wanted a tough finish because at the end of the day it's still a workbench... Can't wait to get the Dillon running :)

Thanks! I cut this blank for a member of a different forum. Don't know how it finally turned out.

I don't think I have enough left for another one but let me check. I'll pm you if I have something you might be able to use.

I made this bench out of 2x4s, 2x6s, and ¾ inch plywood. The lumber and hardware new cost under $150 from Lowes.

Here is a link to the old NRA plans that I used: http://www.shotgunsportsmagazine.com/downloads/bench_plans.pdf

I re-sized the bench top to 2’ x 4’ and made a peg-board backstop in place of the cabinets.

Hello drband!

All first setup about reloading are incredible! Believe me! (And are meaningful, purposeful...)

Thanks. Have loaded about 200 .45s. More to do this week so I can shoot on Saturday. [emoji41]

Yeah, Awesome to have a range where you just open the window and shoot. I also like the bumper sticker on his cabinet door. :D

vinconco, I thought of that too, but never set up in the window of my shop..!
Heck...I may just finally do it.

I had an older neighbor that was not able to walk well after an accident, so he set up a rifle mount in his back window and would shoot deer......( In season only) sitting in a chair.
Then called someone else to process it.:D

What a deal he had....!!!!

TxD

Is this the reloading bench thread or the backyard range thread? I think there's one of those. Pretty neat though.

Ive always dreamt of a range out my bedroom window, where I could just roll out of bed, cook up a load and start my range session. Will have to do something about breathing in all the airborne pollutants though. And Im not sure how my wife will feel about it.
