...handed you $3,500. of her "mad money", and she said;
" your such a great husband, go buy a special Rifle..."
What would you get?

I have a Merkel Semi-auto, a bunch of nice bolt action rifles,
Rugers, Browinings, Win. Model 70's, Sako's, none quite $3.500. "nice"...
...and a bunch of AR15 Rifles, nice ones, KAC SR15, LWRC, D.D. /Ambush,
Colt, SIG, Ruger... none at that price point.

I'm torn between a nice semi-custom JP AR15 in .300AAC, i've been building
( on their site...with their Rifle-Builder tool )...
...or a nicer Bolt action hunting rifle than any I have?

If you have similar already, or anything close...
...what would you get?

I would definitely get a custom long range hunting rig. I even have one in mind just in case.

I would get a GAP Non-Typical in .260 Rem.

I'd wonder what she was up to...nothing comes for "free".

Depends on where the "hole" in my collection was. I'm jonesing for a custom bolt action build in either 7mm Magnum or 300 Win Mag (can't decide between the two) to host a suppressor for "reach out and touch" distances for hunting/precision. I know that if I went for both uses some compromises would have to be made, but I do the best I could with $3500.

A Shiloh Sharps 1874 in 45/70 with enough extras and fancy wood to spend all $3,500.

Weatherby Mark V 300 WTB mag in high grade burl or something similar from Coopers of Montana. Then again there are a ton of shotguns....

What a question Truth is all I want is to replace a Black Powder rifle Have about all I want already... waiting on a back order part for my Mini 14 would like to move up to a nicer M1A.< Pistols yea I can think of a few but not Rifles

I'd be busy making a tough decision between a Cooper 52 Jackson Hunter, and a NULA... Jackal's right though, it would be a wise investment to launder some of the $3500 into a surprise gift for the wife.

sounds like you already have the rifles covered... i'd spend $2500-3000 on glass and spend the rest on returning the favor

...oh how sweet, your handle should be Bunny, not "Jackal"

I'm divorced.:neener::rolleyes::eek::D

if it was possible to find one in the united states, a lee metford cavalry carbine(not sure if they were ever imported to the US)

but I would also be happy with a lee metford mk1(no star)
