I was looking for an "All of the above" option, but since there wasn't one, I voted milsurps.

I really enjoy shooting old, iron sighted bolt action military rifles, particularly at 400 to 600 yards. I like it because the pressure is off in that kind of shooting. I know I'm not going to shoot a sub MOA group, heck, I'm happy if I can keep most shots on an 18 inch bull at 600 yards (and if I can't, its easy to blame on that lousey old surplus ammo). :)

Oh easy. Any thing I cast the bullets for. From .375 H&H to .218 bee, I can't wait to see what my creations are going to do.

I dearly love my CZ 452 FS for plinking at cans or debris at the range. Inexpensive to shoot, accurate, great trigger, a great quality rifle.

"the range" is usually a place I go to to zero my rifles, or teach someone else the basics. The real fun is the hunt or match that follows.

My most fun is AT a range but it's a match. And that's for my semi-auto carbine. Then there have been some 'informal range sessions' where a bunch of friends bring a bunch of rifles.

There's no 'all the above'. And there should be.

I will admit a goofy grin when I shoot my 1894 Marlin in 44 Magnum.

I enjoy shooting my 30-06's at miscellaneous targets from field positions out to a couple hundred yards. Blowing up milk jugs and soda bottles at 100 to 200 yards offhand gives me a lot more satisfaction than tossing out tiny groups from a bench. I would not classify high-power necessarily as hard kicking rifles, but then again I weight my stocks to keep my remingtons around 9-1/2 pounds :) Don't mind carrying around a little extra weight for the difference in handling.

My mom's old Marlin .30-30. Smooth as buttah. Just picked up a Mossy 500 last night though so give me a day or two and that may change. :-D

I like shooting AR15's and High power centerfire cartridges. I did not answer the poll because there is no such thing as an "Assault Weapon". Modern Sporting Rifles yes. But the standard ar15 does not do it for me must be other caliber IE 458socom or 6.5grendel.

Other: Lever action pistol caliber carbines. Since 22lr has become impossible to find around here, 38 special in a lever gun is my new plinking ammo. No recoil, makes big holes in paper, and is cheap to reload (especially if you cast your own bullets)

My favorite rifle for casual enjoyment is far and away my CMP special garand. I get a kick out of shooting something with such history, and it always raises eyebrows down the line when they guy shooting from a sling with open sights works the 500yd gong

I voted other because I like accuracy challenges. Give me a shooting clay at 500 yards and 3 rounds from my .270 win. I keep looking for a .223 bolt action that I can learn to love but keep coming up empty. Technically I guess this puts me in the high power category, but certainly not for the purposes mentioned...and my rifles are far from power levels I would consider thumpers.

I voted other. Nothing puts as bigger smile on my face than a lever action. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy shooting anything. A bad day at the range is better than a good day on the couch.

Range rifle

any 22-250, 223, or 243 bolt action. Just enough feed back (recoil) to feel the joy of shooting, but not so much to wear on the shoulder. I don't get too much out of a 22 mag.

By high powered rifles, I assume you mean centerfire bolt and lever actions. So that's how I voted. I have Remington, Winchester, Weatherby and Browning bolt actions and I enjoy all of them.
