Noted that many makers of both revolvers and auto pistols have begun offering them in pink and other non-traditional colors, apparently primarily in response to female buyer wishes. Many guys (and even some gals) I know who shoot are pretty much against this, but I see no harm done. My wife recently picked up a SCCY 9mm in pink/stainless, and I must say it looks pretty darn awesome, for her. A side benefit we didn't think of when we got it is that it's very easy to spot when you aren't carrying it. I know that you should always know where a gun is, but the operative word is should. If you're like me/us you move the gun with you as you go from room to room and sometimes you forget to pick it back up, temporarily. We have another gun that's pretty conventional in looks/color and its sometimes hard to spot. Not this one, no siree...lol! ;)

I think of it as just another one of the (very) many options available to us, and the more options the better. And if it gets more people (and more women) into shooting and/or carrying, even better. I wish there were more color options, but pink, and to a lesser degree purple, seem to be the popular ones (for now).

Yeah, but I've seen some colors of late like off-red and a really nice shade of blue (Charter Arms) called Santa Fe Sky. Kahr also has a copper'ish cerakote that I like, and Patriot Arms makes a handgun in tan which I would call more of a beige, but not the 'loud' shade.

I've always favored s.s. slides and frames over blued ones, and the colors (think Charter has the most diversity, at present) give them even more character. Some folks (particularly Glockists) think anything not black on black is heresy, but I've been of the mind that a gun is something more than just a 'tool' and I consider them an art piece, to a degree. In other words, I like some difference and eye appeal in my firearms, and that's probably why the pink on her SCCY doesn't bother me, one bit. :p

As long as someone else is paying for them (and being seen in public with them) they can be purple with orange polka dots, for all I care. :barf:

I'd love to see more colors, especially now that most guns are polymer. For the most part they can be any color, no need for boring old black all the time. I have a Ruger LCP in Raspberry on layaway at Bud's simply because I've always wanted to try one and I think it looks pretty cool. Pink isn't really my thing but I've seen some pink guns that looked sweet.

You pays your your money and you gets your choice.

what I've always wondered is why a plastic gun has to have ANY color.
why doesn't someone make it clear plastic.

it would be a shootable cutaway gun, where you could see all the internal workings, but still safe to shoot. black, pink or raspberry doesn't make the plastic any stronger.

I would never own a pink gun,,,

Lilac and Raspberry on the other hand,,, :D

I'd like to see more white polymer weapons. Then the end user can Rit dye to their desired color...

While I myself don't care for pink guns, I have no problem with other folks that like 'em. Kinda like people, they all are the same on the inside regardless of what color they are on the outside.

I dont recall seeing an actual gun of this color, but I have seen plenty of firearm parts and accesories in neon "zombie" green. Including a set of Houge Jframe grips on the clearance rack during my last trip to Cabela's. I actually kinda like the color. I considered buying them for a short while. Decided against it because I didnt think it would look good on silver. Plus it is my carry gun, no need to attract attention. A black Jframe with neon grips might me cool though.

I think the whole pink thing is overdone and tired, but if that pleases someone, it's no harm to me.
