What is the closest powder to Unique?

I like Unique for my 9mm but it's not usually in stock. What powder is the closest substitute?
wideners.com has 1lb bottles with a limit of 10 right now for 18.95 per pound. If you act quick you should be able to get some. As of the time I write this, they also have bullseye.

Hodgdon HP-38/Winchester 231 is slightly faster burning, and it meters nicely. I've used it a lot for 9mm, .38 Special and .45 ACP loads.

Unique alternatives,
Universal
AA#5
VV-n340
HS-6
I have tried these instead of Unique, and each does very well in certain applications, more so than Unique. But none will do everything as well as Unique.

Universal (Hodgdon's Clays Universal) is the substitute for Unique. Burn rates are the same. I thought this was common knowledge, guess I was wrong.
HOWEVER! You cannot simply use Universal in the same amount as Unique, i.e. you can't use 5.0 grains of Universal for recipe using 5.0 grains of Unique. While they have the same burn rate, they are of different configurations.
I switched from Unique to Universal because Unique is filthy. While the new Unique is somewhat cleaner, it still turns my guns black after an extended range session.

Yes universal is the closest thing available to unique. That's what it was formulated to compete with. However it ain't unique! And it doesn't burn any cleaner than new unique, but it does meter better. I went back to good old American made unique after only a lb of universal.

I went to bed too early. Dang it. :)

Hp-38,231,universal, and clays are all fairly close to unique.
"Universal" (Universal Clays) is close, but plain old "Clays" is much faster.

Thanks for all the responses. I will add these to my list. I've only used 3 different powders for 9mm; Unique, Red Dot, and HP38. I liked the slower burning Unique over the other 2.

I'll check out Wideners.

Power Pistol is great in many handguns. I used a lot with jacketed bullets. ...I have seen any for sale in a long time, though.

Universal was developed to mimic Unique but it's cleaner and meters better.

I can't believe how many powders are being listed that are nowhere near Unique just because the poster likes the powder in the 9mm.
