Ruger American Compact

Fast review,otherwise I get in trouble as I am not p.c.

Took the rifle to range today and she shot SO nice and soft with 150 grainer's that I thought I was shooting a .243 or thereabouts.

I was on at 50 yards right after putting on the 2.5 to 10 power Nikon scope [ well worth the extra bucks ].

I so look forward to taking it out for the season starting here on this Saturday.

Easy to shoot,easy to sight = what else do you want ?.

btw ---- REALLY easy to carry as its a compact.

I forgot that it might come in any other caliber than a .308.

I really thought I would LOVE the RSR,in the same caliber [ owned that for 2 years ].

But the American is SO much easier to carry and LIGHTER !.

Only thing I am NOT liking at all,is the problem to load.

It takes 3 rounds [ that is all I can get in her ] the magazine,and I have fat fingers and its not fun trying to load her up to max.

I am very familiar with the expression "man up".

So here is my moment.

I took the Ruger American Compact to the range AFTER reading the manual,and fired her more than 30 rounds.

BUT ---- I mentioned that I had a tough time loading the magazine with 3 rounds.

WELL = it seems that your's truly did not LOOK at the REMOVABLE MAGAZINE !!!.Trying to load it through the ejection port is VERY hard :banghead::banghead:

I was just cleaning her in prep to pack for hunt and I bothered to LOOK at the magazine.

It does hold 4 rounds and EASILY if you TAKE THE MAGAZINE OUT TO LOAD IT.

Old ,and stubborn I might be ---- but I man up when wrong or just moronic !.

This Saturday I am hunting with a few bro's that I have shared opening day with for 40+ years,Arkwright NY.

I hope to then go home and head out to Springville,East Otto,and a couple of others are possible too.
