My want for that 1911 is very high.

I especially like the treatment on the front of the slide, very Hi-Power'ish.
The bevels at the top and bottom edge of the slide are also a nice touch.

The finish looks like Cerakote to me. Regardless, really....really nice work.

Thanks for the kind words folks!

I knew this build would be controversial due to the origin of the pistol.
I believe the ONLY original parts are the frame and slide.

Norinco steel is very good. A bit harder and tougher than others.
Pin hole locations and dimensions are spot on.

Here is the build list:

to fit slide.

Full reliability package.
Rogers’ Bobnose package. Includes match bushing,
custom spring plug, flush cut and match crown barrel.

Re-machine rear cocking serrations.
Ball cuts.
Flatten and scallop top of slide.
Rogers’ Whiteball front sight.
Rogers’ Tier One rear sight.
Machine large bevel at bottom of slide.
Machine large bevel at top of slide.

I may have forgot a few things. LOL!

CHEAP-FAST-GOOD
Pick any two.

^^ Just do a search for other threads he has started, and you'll see some impressive stuff.

^^ I fear that may set in motion a chain of events that I lose control of. Ending in me spending $$ on a custom 1911.

Oh well, one little peek couldn't hurt. Right?
Doesn't cost to look.

For a while, Norinco 1911s were the guns of a choice to build custom 1911s on.

Is that hammer Norinco or aftermarket and second, is it MIM?

Nice work but at the end of the day you still have a Norinco.

If that were my Norc I'd be damned proud of it. It's not like bubba worked on a Norinco. As mentioned above, due to the steels they used, they are very desireable for custom builds, and when done by a reputable smith they are quite valuable.

So no. It's not "just" a Norinco.

That's a fine lookin' pistol. I don't care what name is on the side, I like it. If it shoots straight and doesn't prematurely wear......
I wish it were made in the USA too, but other popular guns are not manufactured here.

Beautiful work, as always.
The finish/color combo/grip choice is understated and very attractive.

I love how industry professionals can say something about Norcs being made to spec and with good steel, and folks still feel the need to say "Its just a norinco" or assume its crap because its Chinese...

As always, nice work.

Another beauty. China Doll for sure with a whole lot of 'Merica artisan blended into the goodness.

Me go boom boom long time. ;)
I'm gonna need some more money.
LOL. You don't really need 2 kidneys do you?

I once had a stock Norinco. I should have kept it. For all the nay sayers, I'd trade my stainless COLT series 70 repro in a heart beat for that Nork. Don't think its going to happen...

I LIKE IT!!!
I'm more a fan of Commander length 1911s, but that thing is gorgeous.
I had to look for the "made by Chicom" stamping to believe it's a Norinco.
Not that I've ever had a single Norinco gun fail me.
It's just that it looks so different from the OEM version.

I volunteer my ATI 4.25" 1911 for that treatment.
I love the scalloped slide top, front strap, and MSH.
Reminds me of jigged bone handle scales on a pocketknife.

What an amazing level of skill. My hat is off to you.
Those grip slabs are interesting.
It looks like the only thing that would provide better grip would be super glue.
Bravo, good sir. Bravo.

I also very much like the front slide treatment.
The BHP is one of my favorite pistols and that look translates very well over to a 1911.

That's a pistol worthy of being in a good movie.
