Location
San Antonio, Texas!
Well, the good news is that the Premier Gun Show will be returning to San Antonio in January 2015!

The not-so-good news is that there is only one show scheduled so far, that being January 10th & 11th. However, I suspect more shows will be announced after the new year arrives.

There has been a venue change, the show will now be at the San Antonio Shrine Auditorium (901 North Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX 78232) in the Stone Oak area of the city. The auditorium is located on the North access road of Loop 1604 between Stone Oak Parkway and Blanco Road.

Show Hours are Saturday 9 am–5 pm and Sunday 10 am–4 pm.

General Admission is still $8 (cash only), weekend passes are $12 (again, cash only), children UNDER 12 and uniformed Peace Officers get in FREE!

You can also subscribe to their email newsletter to receive a printable $1 off coupon!

Parking is also FREE!

Breakfast plans are TBD, but subscribe to this thread as I will post updates as we get closer to the show!

So mark the dates of 10-11 January on your calendar, and start making plans to attend the biggest and best guns how in the San Antonio area!

Cheers! M2

Any reason given why they are no longer having the show at the Freeman Coliseum?

The new place is way up on the far north side and a long drive for those on the south side or like me even further south.

The parking is terrible and limited. The show area is quite limited compared to the Freeman Coliseum

I can name several reasons to not hold the show there, but none to do so unless I lived in the neighborhood.

I detest driving to the shine auditorium, about 45 mins away.

So, they lost me

Bexar County, who owns the Freeman Expo Center, raised the price of parking to the point that Premier could no longer afford to use the venue.

As for your other arguments, the truth is this new location is likely to bring more people from the New Braunfels/San Marcos corridor to the show. Attendance at the Expo Center was never great, and with the increase in venue costs the show had to be moved elsewhere. Oddly there aren't many places that can adequately host such a large show in this city, and the Shine Auditorium was one of the few available.

I am sorry that you won't be making the trip to the new location, but I do believe it will draw more people to this show than before.

Unfortunately, I got a message today from Premier stating that they had to cancel this show! :(

Per Tim and Michelle, "The space was just not large enough for the show we want to do and there were other complications with the building."

They are looking for another suitable venue, so if anyone knows of one please let me know and I will pass it on.

Otherwise, the 10-11 January 2015 Premier Gun Show has been cancelled. I will post on any future shows as soon as I hear about them!

Cheers! M2

Great news! The Premier Gun Show is returning to San Antonio!

And, would you believe it, the location is back to the Freeman Expo Hall!

The first date will be May 30-31, and there will be subsequent shows in July, October and December.

Parking will $7, but show entry will only be $5 per person (so cram as many people you can into your car!)

More information will be put out on the Premier Gun Show website (below), in the mean time mark you calendars and we'll start making plans for breakfast!

Welcome to Premier Gun Shows

The Premier Gun Show USED to be a very good show. What happened? Last few times I've gone there was only about half the vendors as there were previously. That doesn't make it that attractive of an event for me. I've left very disappointed the last few times.

There were several other shows this weekend, to include New Braunfels and Fredericksburg. Many vendors were sticking with those that were closer to them because of the upcoming holiday.

Still, it was a pretty busy show and worth the trip for us. Gun shows tend to be like roller coaster rides, and while this one may not be as big as it used to, it still brings in a lot of dealers that otherwise don't do shows in San Antonio and it is a nice change from the Ground Hog's Day that the SAXET show has become...

Cheers! M2

"Gound Hog Day" LOL

Hahaha...I completely agree with the Ground Hog Day comparison for SAXET....same ole thing time after time. I tried the New Braunfels show (Premier) a couple of months ago and really enjoyed that one. Even drove down to Robstown once. That was a good show too. Hopefully Premier will pickup better in San Antonio in the spring.

To make things easier I am just going to keep replying to this thread for the 2016 shows...

A second show is scheduled for April 9th & 10th.

Just a reminder that the Premier San Antonio Gun Show will be back in the Alamo City again next weekend, 23 and 24 July, at the Freeman Expo Hall (3201 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78219) right next to the AT&T Center.

Hours are Saturday 9am–5pm, and Sunday 10am–4pm.

General admission is still only $5 (cash only) and Bexar county charges $7 per vehicle for parking.

More info on Premier's website: http://premiergunshows.com/shows/san-antonio-gun-show/

Anyone wanting to do breakfast, we usually meet at Teran's (4403 E Houston St) at 8am on Saturday to "fuel up" before the show!

There are two more shows scheduled this year on 15 & 16 October and 17 & 18 December, so mark your calendars!

Cheers! M2

Just a head's up, the Premier San Antonio Gun Show will be back in the Alamo City again 17 & 18 December at the Freeman Expo Hall (3201 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78219) just next to the AT&T Center.

Hours are Saturday 9am–5pm, and Sunday 10am–4pm.

General admission is still only $5 (cash only) and Bexar County charges $7 per vehicle for parking.

More info on Premier's website: https://www.premiergunshows.com/shows/san-antonio-gun-show/

Anyone wanting to do breakfast, we usually meet at Teran's (4403 E Houston St) at 8am on Saturday to "fuel up" before the show; but I am considering a "venue change" to Pancake Joe's at 1011 Donaldson Ave, San Antonio, TX 78228! If you've never heard of this place, it's highly rated but has limited seating.

It is also a bit farther away from the Freeman Expo Center (10 miles/20 mins).

Let me know what you think. I have nothing against Teran's, and it's been a while since we've been there; it's just a chance to try something new!

Cheers! M2

Yep, it's that time! The Premier San Antonio Gun Show will be back in two weeks (18 & 19 March) with 600 tables at the Freeman Expo Hall (3201 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78219), right next to the AT&T Center.

Hours are Saturday 9am–5pm and Sunday 10am–4pm, with general admission still only $5 (cash only). Bexar County still charges $7 per vehicle for parking.

More info on Premier's website and/or following the show on Facebook.

And so you can mark your calendars now, the next scheduled show will be 23 & 24 September.

As for breakfast, we usually meet at Teran's (4403 E Houston St) at 8am on Saturday to "fuel up" before the show; but an alternative might be Pancake Joe's at 1011 Donaldson Ave, San Antonio, TX 78228! If you've never heard of this place, it's highly rated but has limited seating and it is a bit farther away from the Freeman Expo Center (10 miles/20 mins). Let me know what you think. I have nothing against Teran's, it's always great for a meeting place but I figured we might just try something new!

Cheers! M2

OK, the show is next weekend, so here's your friendly reminder! I think breakfast will be at Teran's, as despite how good Pancake Joe's is, the seating is very limited and if we get more than six people showing up we might not get in.

So Teran's at 8am on Saturday it is! Hope to see y'all there!

Cheers! M2

Yep, it's that time again! The Premier San Antonio Gun Show will be back in two weeks (17 & 18 June) with 600 tables at the Freeman Expo Hall (3201 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78219), right next to the AT&T Center. Just to note, this show was an addition to the schedule.

Hours are Saturday 9am–5pm and Sunday 10am–4pm, with general admission still only $5 (cash only). Bexar County still charges $7 per vehicle for parking. Handicapped and Disabled Veterans park for free.

More info on Premier's website and/or following the show on Facebook.

And so you can mark your calendars now, the next scheduled show will be 23 & 24 September.

As for breakfast, we usually meet at Teran's (4403 E Houston St) at 8am on Saturday to "fuel up" before the show. If anyone is interested in joining us, please feel free to do so.

Well, it was a good show last Saturday. I bought a steel rifle target, and found a neat Soviet-era multi-tool that was a combination of an axe, shovel, saw and hammer.

Unfortunately, there was also some not-so-good news. Due to conflicting shows, the September San Antonio Gun Show has been cancelled and there are no more planned. We spoke to the Premier folks at the show and for the time being they will not be coming back. They do hope to do so one day in the future, but with so many other shows it has been tough getting vendors for this venue.

I want to thank Premier for all their hospitality over the years, and let them know we hope they do return soon. Given the decrease in attendance at all gun shows in the city, their departure is understandable; but we do hope it is only temporary!

Cheers! M2
