I apologize if this is in the wrong category.

I am shocked that this a real PSA! The video depicts a young man taking a gun from his parents room, putting it in his backpack and turning it in to a teacher at school because he is "Afraid to live with a gun in his home".

The number of laws broken by the student in the video is a HUGE problem by itself, let alone the boy picking the gun up by the trigger from a sock drawer. I would question the legal culpability of the creators of this video if a child were to do as the video seems to encourage. Minimally, police would be visiting the school and the home.

These kinds of shady efforts by the anti-gun crowd just re-enforce my belief that training your kids about guns and gun safety is every bit as important as teaching them about sex/drugs. There is so much misinformation out there about these subjects that NOT making sure they are educated is negligent at best.

EDIT: I was gratified to notice that the video (as of this time) has 112 thumbs up and 15,400 thumbs down.

I count up to 8 laws broken.

I would lodge a complaint about the video under terms of service.

1. Stealing. (From the parents) (The video and the teacher encouraging stealing).
2. Possession of a firearm by a minor.
3. Transportation of a firearm by a minor.
4. Possessing a firearm in school. (He is in school with the firearm to give to teacher.)
5. Contributing to a delinquency of a minor. (The video and the teacher.)
6. Encouraging a minor to commit a crime. (The video and the teacher.)
7. Encouraging a minor to commit a felony. (The video and the teacher.)
8. If the teacher possesses a firearm on school grounds without authorization. (GFSZ).
.

I've seen it reported on multiple news sites not sure if it's a "real PSA" partly because I'm not sure what constitutes a "real" PSA vs a idiot making a video.

Derek,

It isn't.

CCRKBA said:
BELLEVUE, WA – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms today labeled a so-called ‘public service announcement” that literally encourages teens to commit firearms felonies ostensibly to get firearms out of their homes in the interest of “safety.”

The Washington Times and other sources identify the PSA as having been produced by a San Francisco-based production company called Sleeper 13 Productions. The nearly three-minute video shows a teen taking what appears to be a loaded handgun out of his parents’ drawer, hiding it in a backpack and taking it to school, where he hands it over to a teacher and asking that the gun be taken away.

“The series of crimes depicted in this video is simply astonishing,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “We’re talking about felony theft of a firearm, illegal possession of a handgun by a minor, having a gun in a school, illegal concealed carry by a minor, brandishing and maybe one or two other crimes, depending upon the jurisdiction.

“The fact that the gun appears to be a very real-looking BB pistol is not the point,” he noted. “The scenario obviously depicts what some youngster should do with a real handgun. Besides, even bringing a BB gun to school is against the law, and at the very least, the boy in this video would wind up being arrested and face felony charges.

“We understand from published reports that angry messages have been showing up on this company’s Facebook page,” Gottlieb said, “and rightly so. The message of this video is so monumentally stupid that if any youth does something like this after watching it, the producers should face charges. If someone is hurt, they should face both criminal and civil liability.”

CCRKBA, Gottlieb noted, has a long history of promoting firearms safety.

“This video isn’t a public service announcement,” he said, “but a public dis-service and the producers ought to be ashamed.”

I am shocked that this a real PSA!
What makes it a "real PSA"? Some nobody gun control advocate/wannabe director released a video on you tube through a unknown production company.

The outrage from the gun community will result in many more views (and publicity/revenue) than if it just languished in obscurity.

I have just looked through around 10 news articles about the "PSA" and it was apparently published Dec. 13 by Sleeper 13 Productions which is San Francisco-based production company. The original video is simply a YouTube video put up by Rejina Sincic. It currently has 17k thumbs down and 131 thumbs up's.

I haven't found anything linking it to any federal, state, or local governments.
I believe it is just as much a PSA as the Ted Nudget videos on YouTube. :scrutiny:

How incredibly irresponsible. I can't... I don't even know where to start... Unbelievable!

I couldn't believe it when I saw it either. Like I said at the time, this is the real reason we need to monitor what our kids are watching on television and seeing online. Filth of the lowest sort.

Folks just report the video to YouTube as encouraging / advocating criminal activity. In post #2 Midwest provided a nice list of the crimes the video advocates.

im surprised no one hasnt studied the names of the people involved in its creation. careful atention i mean.

These folks are truly delusional.....to the point of being dangerous to themselves and others. Worst concept for a psa I've ever seen. Thanks for the heads up what these folks are up to.

They have stopped both comment and "liking." reporting it as harmful behavior is the only way to address it.

It also sets up a situation where if miss understood during the course of a day police officer may be forced to respond to the school. Not a good situation.

^ Looks to have been made private now. I'm not clear if it ever was aired on anything other than YT, but it was grossly irresponsible either way.

The original video at the beginning of this thread no longer plays (as somebody stated above). However, the video has been re-uploaded, a few hours ago: this time, the comments are disabled. It's the leftist way: don't engage your critics, SILENCE THEM if possible. Here is the new url:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIa4NkQXm8Y

Again, report it under "More > Report this video > Harmful dangerous acts > Other dangerous acts." I took Midwest's list and edited it to fit in the report reason box within the character limit. My edited version is below, so feel free to copy it and paste it in when YT prompts you for a reason for the report. If she keeps uploading it and we keep reporting that the video is encouraging / advocating crimes she may face YT account suspension or revocation.

User has re-uploaded this video depicting and encouraging the commission of the crimes of:
1. Stealing.
2. Possession of a firearm by a minor.
3. Transportation of a firearm by a minor.
4. Possessing a firearm in school.
5. Contributing to a delinquency of a minor.
6. Encouraging a minor to commit a crime.
7. Encouraging a minor to commit a felony.
8. If the teacher possesses a firearm on school grounds without authorization.

I attended all my school elementary-university in a rural community that is about as pro-God and pro-gun as it gets. I would hate to imagine the penalty for any student that brought a gun to school for any reason, be they afraid of it or not. This video is grossly irresponsible and dangerous. What if this "kid", accidentally pulls the trigger (or some other accidental action) and causes and AD and hurts/kills himself or someone in the house? I hope everyone that sees this thread reports the video to YT.

I reported it as well. The producers of this video are despicable. If you love guns, hate guns or you're indifferent, who in their right mind would encourage kids to do something like this?

This outrageous video should land it's producers in jail. Encouraging such illegal and dangerous activities by children is an outrage! Will these insane zealots be held to account if a child is killed? Perhaps by security or police who mistake his intentions?

The video has been changed to "Private."

I'm not familiar enough with YouTube; what does "Private" mean?
