Merry Christmas, one and all.

And a special mention for the Marines, who ... uh ... keep the real meaning ... or something.

This is my ninth THR Christmas.

I've moved around a bit over the last eight years . . .

Christmases:

• 2006 -- Carson City
• 2007, 2008 -- Post Falls
• 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 -- Coeur d'Alene
• 2013, 2014 -- Tulsa
• 2015 -- ?? (TBD)

Given my druthers, it wouldn't be this way, but continuing to be employed -- hold a job -- trumps geography.

However, seen through a different lens, here's another way to look at my last nine Christmases:

• 2006 -- The High Road, as a rank noob and new shooter.
• 2007 -- THR, meeting new friends, like Bob Smith, Massad Ayoob.
• 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 -- THR, helping to sweep the floors and take out trash.
• 2012, 2013, 2014 -- THR, keeping my sanity anchored and vision clear.
• 2015 -- THR, keeping the vision alive whatever happens anywhere else.

These are my friends here.

To all my friends: a glass! A toast -- to the finest bunch of rowdies on teh Interwebz.

And, later, maybe at a range of your choosing, a quiet 21-gun salute to Derek and the mob down in the engine room.
