This is my small-framed Taurus 22. They are fairly inexpensive and just fine for beginners and/or plinking.

Im starting to think my 8 shot Pathfinder might be the only one they made. The thread I started about the 8 shot, where someone contacted Charter and they said all Pathfinders would be 8 shot soon, was in 2013. If you look at Gunbroker, they are all still 6 shot. If you ordered a 6 shot Pathfinder from Buds, I can almost guarantee it will be a 6 shot. I dont know what happened to the switch over. Maybe if you are really interested, call Charter and ask whats going on. They always answer the phone, and were very pleasant to deal with.
I just got a six shot from grabagun today it was test fired in December. I was hoping after seeing this thread I would open it and find a eight shot.

I wonder what happened...? Mine is clearly an 8 shot. If you went to all the trouble to change the tooling, and make different parts, and actually ship guns that are 8 shot, why would you go back to a 6 shot? I have seen one or two of the 4" LR Pathfinders on GunBroker that were 8 shot, but again, not many. I cant see where there would be some kind of an issue with the 8 shooters... mine works perfectly. In fact, it has the best lock up of any 22 revolver I have, and runs perfectly. I dont get it...?

Um, none of the H&R fans have mentioned that many models have a hammer spur so high that sights can not be used in double action fire. Cocking the hammer for single action does allow use of the sights though.

Not saying the little swing out cylinder H&Rs are not good little guns that will stand up to a lot of abuse, just think folks aught to be aware of the fact that the sights are not useful on many of them for DA shooting.

Yes, apparently her opinion trumps most things in life. However, let's have some opinions on the LCR... Maybe they can be used to help her get over the aesthetics?

BTW. I handled a "six shot" pathfinder yesterday. It was chambered in .22 mag so it wasn't the perfect example. I must say I found it to be O.K. It just felt super sloppy when compared to my 642. However, for the price, I think it could do the job.

So, how about that LCR?

I have the LCR-22 and its a nice revolver. It has fixed sights, and luckily mine shoots to point of aim. Im sure you know its Double Action Only. Its short sight radius makes long shots difficult. It makes a fine plinker, and training tool. I wish they would offer the new 3" LCRx in 22 Long Rifle. That would be an excellent little revolver.

A few years back, my FFL had a S&W .22/.32 Kit Gun on consignment.
I jumped on it as it was in exceptional shape!
It's a good shooter and lots of fun!

Beware the loose rear adjustable sight on the 929 Cajun. I've made two over the years and loctite is your friend.

Yeah, why not an 8 shot LCR? Abolutely my favorite DA gun.
Same on sportsman 999. As a really good rule, in older guns especially, if it's a 2 screw sets crew rear sight, set it, pull one side and loctite the sets crew as you put it back in. Let the loctite set up, then do the other side a couple hours later. Those sights are not hard to make, but they sure aren't much fun either. I'm on my 3rd for the 999. Lost the first, didn't like the level of fit and finish on the second one.
