Just wondering what barrel company is recommended for a new barrel on my 22-250. The factory barrel is still in good condition, heck I have less than 300 rounds down it, but I know with how much I shoot that I will have to eventually have a new one installed. Prefer a lightweight as this is a M70 featherweight. Thanks.

Almost any aftermarket barrel is gonna be way better than a factory tube. I have had good luck with Shilen's and had one Hart that was superb. I have a couple Shilens on order right now but not installed yet. One thing you will notice is they are so smooth running a brush through.

Ask the man who is going to put it on the rifle what he likes.

Last I knew Hart did a good job of installing their own barrels with a reasonable turn around but had fallen out of favor along with most button rifled barrels such as Shilen. That said and speaking as an old man I like Hart and Shilen and have little experience with the move to cut rifled at higher prices. I don't doubt that cut rifled barrels just might last a little longer but I think for the same quality cost a little more so it's no big deal.
