Anybody ever seen a primer pocket this far off center? I decided to junk this case just to eliminate a possible misfire. It does look like someone fired it, though!

Only one of many possible issues with A-Merc brass. Some toss it on sight, some inspect and reuse it if it looks okay. I don't use it myself. I have plenty of other brass to use, that apparently has higher quality control standards.

I have painfully went threw lots of A-meric brass and kept a lot of good ones to load. PITA but hey reloading is a hobby and it is no worse than trimming brass...

Although noted many times on this forum I have never seen a piece of A-Merc?

Any particular boxed ammo that uses this brass?

I always look at the range brass. Some funny stuff out there. Last week I picked up two .45 acp cases. The primer hole was twice as big as normal. First time to see a primer that large...like it was drilled or reamed out. I didn't reload those. Into the recycle box.

That's not funny stuff.

It is current 'lead Free' or 'clean range' ammo.

It all has huge primer flash holes, and Small Pistol primers to reduce excess primer pocket pressure.

It is reloaded using the same loads as you normally use.

Funny, the primer pocket looks off center, but the flash hole looks centered in the casing.

I have not run across many "AMERC", but I toss them when I do.

Obviously, quality control is not on their agenda. If something this obvious is allowed, imagine the problems not so obvious, like wall thickness or metallurgy.

Toss them all.

Now you see why everyone says to toss any A-Merc brass you find directly into the scrap bucket. What you see in the picture is only one of MANY problems you will see with that brass. It's about time they closed their doors!

Posts: 409 I recently found a new head stamp in some range brass, too! A-USA. Is this the new A-Merc that I heard about?

I've been finding it, too - but it seems like decent brass

I'm also baffled at the source, it might be a new Armscor stamp from their US plant, but I haven't been able to check that.

Thanks Guys. During the shortages I started finding more and more lesser known brass. Lots of Speer, Blazer, Top Brass, ect.

I measured the wall thickness of A-Merc brass and found it to be thinner than any other manufactures. As the wall thickness is thinner it doesn't load or crimp well unless you reset you dies and I'm not doing that.
