I'm usually a wood-stock and blued-metal kind of guy, but I took the plunge today and ordered a Daniel Defense M4V9. I've been looking at the Daniel Defense web site for about a year now, and that was the one that appealed most to me. Who has some suggestions for flip-up iron sights? Thanks.

If you plan on using them as primary sights (no optics) then you will probably want elevation adjustable sights. As far as flip-ups (since you specified them) I would go with Matech.

If you don't need elevation, I shot some Troy flip ups that were decent. If you are used to an aperture sight, don't get the diamond shaped ones - they do not shoot the same as the circular apertures.

I plan to purchase a scope eventually, but not for another five or six months. The rifle cost me a lot of overtime.

If you're planning on a scope or sight soon I'd save money and get the Magpul MBUS. Around $75 for front and rear.

Not much of a black gun guy myself. My setup redfield Olympic with Tube, variable peep

I got the nicer magpul buis and I really like them (mbus pro or something like that). Lot of quality at a reasonable price. Also have used Troy's and really liked those as well.

There is no shortage of good options. Troy, Magpul MBUS Pro, and LMT are all great options, if you have the budget for it, KAC also makes outstanding irons. If you are on a tighter budget and don't mind polymer, go for the standard Magpul MBUS (I have these on my AR15 and have no complaints, but at the same time I don't have any superlative laced glowing review either).

Magpuls are copied illegally and stamped as such quite often. I would NOT buy them from anyone that is not reputable such as Ebay or random ridiculously cheap gun show tables selling garbage chinese knock off junk.

I bought some that were listed as US versions, I got them home and noticed they differed slightly from my others, they were imitations. The other risk is them selling the PTS versions which are not nearly as quality and made in China. They are intended for paintball and training weapons.

Troy makes a really nice flip rear sight. Some websites, such as Primary Arms, sometimes run sales with these sights being under $100. It's money well spent for a BUIS.
