Are you excited for the Glock 43?

No not for me, I have several pocket guns, if a gun Is a 9mm auto pistol, either make it small or add some rounds, That's my opinion. Otherwise I would carry a small revolver.
I might consider it with an 8 round mag.
The first individual or company that makes an extended mag "like a Pierce +2 extension", will make a ton of money very fast. Obviously Glock doesn't want to butt heads with the 26 or it would have made a 6 and 7 and 8 rounder, like On the XDS, and Shield.

I'm interested to see how the reviews go, and might pick one up in the future, but I'm not tripping over myself to get one.

So are you just pimping your video OP or are you really interested in opinions?

Regardless, No, I have no interest.

It's a logical comparison, small single stack 15-20 oz guns. Weather ut's 9 40 or 45 their appeal is targeted to concealed carry permit holders.

I read every comment. I then use this information to gauge the market based on random samples in the gun community. I then factor this knowledge in my reviews, and for ideas for future videos.

Does this meet your approval?

The 43 should sell well among women and men with freakishly small hands.

Glocks are by definition supposed to be utilitarian, so getting 'excited' about one would be like getting excited about a shovel. However, if you need a thinner shovel, I'm sure it does the job well.

I've got a pair of Shields, a .40 and a 9mm, so I can honestly say I'm not excited.

If I hadn't already scratched that itch I would take a look at the 43 though.

No interest for me. I have sold all of my Glocks for their M&P equivalents. The only one I have held onto is my G20 and if Smith ever comes out with one that will go away as well.

Not really interested. I have a variety of guns suitable for concealed carry, I don't want another right now.

Might have been more interested if it was available a couple of years ago.

I have zero interest.
But if it offers someone a fun shooting experiencne or viable personal security option, more choices is more better.

Price was $449

That's good to hear. I visited my LGS this weekend. They said they were hoping to see their G43's start showing up in about 5 weeks (that was just an estimate). But he didn't have any pricing yet. $449 is very reasonable to me though so hopefully my LGS is just as reasonable.

Just curious, if the pistol is only 4 millimeters narrower than a G26, what's the hubub? Why get a single stack that is only marginally narrower or shorter than a double stack?

The slide is .87" wide. The gun overall at its widest point is just over an inch. It's about 20% thinner than a G26, and lighter to boot.

What good is an M&P Shield when it isn't much thinner than an M&P Compact?

Cabela's in Green Bay quoted me $599...lol I don't think it'll sell for that.

Excited, no, it looks like a black utility tool but if it has the charactaristics, usability, and reliability of any the other glocks I know about it would be a very highly recommended concealed carry gun.

My opinion is what Glocks may lack in asthetics they make up for in practicality. If my life was on the line and I had to use a firearm to keep me alive a Glock is what I would want to have.

It depends on what one defines as "marginally narrower" as for me 4mm is pretty big. I handled a G43 today in direct comparison to the G42 and G26 we own.

I have to agree with Massad Ayoob's statement that the G43 is less a "slimmed down G26" and more a "G42 on a very slight dose of steroids"...the gun is almost a G42 sized 9mm in the hand. The difference between the G43 and the G26 is significant....the difference in size and "feel" from between the G42 and G43 is nearly insignificant except that the G43 is scaled to fit a slightly larger hand than the G42.

They will sell these like hot cakes. And then some if it recoils like I think it does, as it has been touted to, and if it mimics the G42 in its low bore/soft shooting characteristics. I have a feeling that instead of being "late to the party" Glock has taken their time and built a single stack 9mm exploiting the minor failings of previously released single stack 9's and maybe produced the Pick of The Litter by taking their time and stacking the deck.

Time will soon tell for those of us who buy one. I'm reminded of the G42 release where even the Glock Fan Boyz poo-poo'd and yawned and pronounced it DOA and unwanted. Then Glock sold over 200K of them the first year.

VooDoo

which would be what exactly????

They are already down round count to the competition.

Down in round count and down in grip length for better pocket carry. Kinda works that way with a single stack, eh?

It will be interesting to see if MagGuts can come up with an aftermarket follower to add a round to the magazine the same way they did for the Glock 42.

except 3.8mm Height difference between that and the XDs9 doesnt even let you benefit from the full -1rd.
