I had a line on new old stock .256 win mag dies for a very reasonable price. Since that's what I wanted to give my dad along with a press to use them in, I asked him before shelling out the cash. He hummed and hawwed over it to a point that when he finally said yes the dies were gone. Now I can find new dies in the 75 dollar and up range, but nothing nearly as reasonable as the dies I had found. I have an old set that I use on occasion but honestly they are nearly junk. They produce ammo but they don't do a great job of it. He has a Lee classic loader and loads with it but with a bad shoulder it's hard for him to play whack-a-mole for very long. If anybody knows of a decent set that are used or has a line on a new set that won't break the bank I would appreciate it.

And before too many questions are asked about my junk set, they are old lyman dies with a broken primer punch, that is rusty as can be outside, hard to adjust due to rust, pitting, and abuse, and they absolutely will not form a case from a .357 without crushing the neck and destroying the case. They are OK for loading, but they certainly are not what I would give to anyone as a gift. They were given to me, and it's obvious why.

Maybe some of us could look at our LGS.

I was in there today for no reason in particular and I am always amazed at the unusual caliber die sets that are on the dusty old shelves.

I will take a look.... .256 win mag. They have lots of old stuff with old price stickers in the $30 range.

Rcbs special order, Lee doesn't list them anymore, Redding and Hornady think they are made of gold. I hit ebay and a few other auction sites with no luck on anything reasonably priced.

Somebody has to have them. I know a store that has 4 sets of .264 Win Mag dies. Great cartridge...the 7mm Mag just won out.

I'd bet they're out there...waiting for you to find 'em. Sorry I can't help more.

There is a set of Hornady on Ebay right now, but they want $85.00, keep an eye out, they will show. I bought an RCBS 22 Jet set last month for 30 bucks. I'll keep looking for ya,

I picked up a set on eBay about 2 months ago for 32.00 delivered they were a set for of Herters old stock but new in the box.
Also Aneal your your cases and you will crush cases another thing to slow don't try to resize in one stroke.

I have a set I found for somebody else who decided not to take them, RCBS 2 die set. They look quite useable and not much used. PM me is interested

On Ebay right now you can give money to the people who want to take your firearms away.
Order 'em through your local gun shop.
