Yes, that's WST. Here's a comparison picture of WST with W231/HP-38. - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=9637437#post9637437

243winxb, I have browsed that website before and the pictures are too zoomed in and lose relative perspective in terms of color and appearance and they all begin to start looking similar. When we look at powders for identifications, we usually use eyeball magnification not microscopic magnification. ;)

In the comparison picture below, you can definitely see the color/texture difference of Universal compared to W231/HP-38.

This link shows NCFS picture of Universal. The overly close up of granules washes out the orange/tannish color and the occasional greenish granules which will allow us to recognize it as Universal - http://www.ilrc.ucf.edu/powders/documents/powder 00000138/Powder_0000138.jpg

WST

Thanks for the clarification guys! Plan on using with Lyman 452374 & a NOE H&G 68 copy lead boolit. Read there are a lot of competitive metal target shooters using WST in 45acp.

Boho, I was told by other match shooters WST can get spikey at the top hence no load data for 9mm from Hodgdon, although many match shooters use WST for 9mm.

I used WST for 9mm, 40S&W and 45ACP but it should be fine for lower pressure 45ACP and there's plenty of load data from Hodgdon including 155/180/200/230 gr lead loads - http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/pistol

My BE loads are with WST. For the 200 gr LSWC try 4.1-4.2gr for both long and short line. I use 4.1 gr for 185gn LSWC. My gun will run with a std 16# RS but I prefer using 14#. I have a c-More CTS (slide mounted) as my sight of choice for tired old eyes that can't see iron sights anymore. You will like the WST. It burns exceptionally clean even at these reduced loads.
