I have a wooden case that came with my 6" Mod 29. Its in great shape on the outside, but the inside is just a black piece of molded, hard plastic of some sort with a one inch thick piece of foam in the lid. The foam has lost its blue color and the little lid for the tool compartment has also faded to almost black with a bit of Royal blue showing here and there. Can I color the foam somehow? Caan flocking material be glued to the hard plastic ( I don't think the hard plastic ever had any color on it, its the one where the revolver faces to the right).?

I re-flocked mine several years ago with materials purchased online from Constantine's IIRC, and it turned out beautifully. I used a spray-can adhesive from 3-M, the kind that's used for automotive interiors. The trick is to apply an even, wet coat without runs or pooling-up, and lay on a heavy bed of flocking.

Thanks guys! Hey rc, can you flock the foam rubber too? The black plastic is rigid, the foam is mighty flexible!

I don't know that I ever seen one with foam on one side??
But I never paid attention.

SCofS&W book says:
1960-69 = Styrofoam inserts top & bottom, molded to barrel length.
1969-1974 = Stryofoam bottom, foam rubber top, both Flock covered.
1974-1978 = 2 molded plastic inserts, both blue flocked.
1978-1981 = Molded bottom, foam top, with a lift-out compartment for cleaning tools. Both top and bottom were flocked.

So, it sounds like no matter which you have, both bottom & lid were flocked.

The 3M spray adhesive I mentioned should be safe on foam, as is is commonly used on auto seat foam & headliners.
(But, test a small place on the back of the foam first.)

Royal Blue flock powder should be available at craft stores like Hobby Lobby and such.

BTW: Be sure you post Before & After photos if you decide to do it.
I want to see it!!
