The elusive 6.5" blued cal. .44M is hard to find.

I'm on about about a dozen "notify me" lists from gun dealers around the country and if I'm lucky... get an alert from one of them about every 90 days saying the gun is back in stock. But alas, as soon as I see my email and login, the gun is gone.

Of course I check Gunbroker too but I'm not willing to pay above MSRP.

I have one in very fine cond.,maybe 40rds thru it. Got a PC Steath Hunter and like it better so I might be getting rid of the 29 Classic 61/2" bbl. with under lug, what are you offering? This one was made in 1993.

I have one in the large presentation case with all the tools. Not For Sale and not fired. Maybe some day I'll shoot it.

Sold my 8 3/8" Smith (Dirty Harry) 29 for $500 to my neighbor. No matter how much I loaded it down, it was still too much for me. Trigger guard ate my middle finger. Satisfied with a model 19 with 6" barrel 357 mag. Just made for me.

I told the neighbor that if he ever needs the money, I will buy it back in a heartbeat. "no way" he sez!!

I don't have a 6 1/2" M29.
But I do have a 4" M29 and a 6 1/2" M629
The longer barrel is a much nicer shooting gun with X Frame grips with full power loads.
The M29 looks gorgeous though.
Best of both worlds if you're a collector or just looking for a range toy.
I would (and did) opt for stainless and rubber over blued carbon steel and wood for hunting though.

Just ordered one via my favorite LGS... Now we'll see if he is any better than me at locating one!

I guess I could have gone the new grips route. That would have solved my finger problem, but would have deflowered a beautiful classic.
The presentation case was eaten alive, as gun oil never gets along with presentation cases.
I am so happy with the 357 mag. That gun never gives me the finger.:D
