has become my EDC. It sort of just snuck in too the place of my HK P2K. The darn thing is fun to shoot, thin enough to hide well, and effortless to carry. It may end as a backup but in AZ summers it will be hard to beat.

I'm in the same camp. I didn't put the full carry kit in mine, but the hard sear only. It made a huge difference. I have shot about 400 rounds through mine with no malfunctions, so I put it on my belt yesterday for the first time with a Don Hume OT OWB holster. Nice and light compared to my XD9SC that I usually carry. Not to say the XD is heavy though. Once the holster is broken in, it will be nice and comfortable, light, and easily hidden.

Shield-Glock 43 ....

I own a no thumb safety model M&P Shield in 9x19mm. I've had it approx 6mo now with no major problems or misfires.
I clean it with Hoppes #9 synthetic and Froglube CLP(liquid).
I use Speer Gold Dot short barrel 124gr +P 9mm for CCW.

I'm impressed with the new Glock 43 9x19mm & I may trade my Shield 9mm for a NIB Glock 43 later this year. I'm left handed & prefer the set up of the 43 over the no-thumb-safety Shield. Both seem like great sub compact carry guns, I just think the Glock 43 has better features.

Ah, yes. Features... Like that one feature. Or, maybe the other cool feature. Too many features to list, but I like where you are going with this.

I have a new Shield with the Apex Duty Carry trigger

I hope to take the gun to the range next week. Trigger feels great and I am looking forward to shooting the new shield for the first time.

Main features.....

I prefer the new Glock 43 over my older Shield no thumb safety 9mm because of ideal features like size, weight, the polymer frame, the ambi magazine release, the sights, the "safe action". :D
I'm satisfied with my compact Shield but I think the 43 offers a bit more in a CCW/back up pistol.

My most carried gun is a Shield with an Apex sear and Ameriglo pro-i-dot sights. I consider it to be the perfect IWB carry gun.

Feel, grip....

I like the Glock 43 polymer frame & rounded, contoured grip. The Shield no thumb safety 9mm is okay but I think the Glock 43 lends itself to pocket-ankle carry or CCW more than the Shield IMO.
The 6rd 9x19mm is fine with me. I have med-large hands so the either Glock 43 or M&P Shield 9mm can fit but for carry/CCW, I'd pick the 43.
