Check AIMSurplus , they have the DDI brand. A little more but i think its worth it. The Bulgarian UF with milled receiver is hard to beat.

Vz2008 a solid choice? Not when your life depends on it especially when it goes Click=Vz2008, aka the

^^^^do you work for century arms to confirm this?

Are you implying that only a person who for a company is qualified to vouch for the product? Especially when company employees would be the ones that have a clear reason to lie/mislead.

I don't disagree with you about a VZ2008, nor do I agree. I've never even held one.

I Just get sick of the childish one liners I'm seeing more and more of.

Mr. Deep South, it's funny nowadays how people jump the gun and take things so seriously....I used to own a century arms vz2008. If it seems childish to you, that's your opinion. For you I will remove the vz2008 gremlin:) if it will make you feel better:)

PSA just released their AK so that may be worth waiting for, but you should wait until they get some reviews on them.

Especially since the first run the Fernandina store just got had to be sent back due to headspace issues...

I got an NPAP as an inexpensive defense rifle I could leave out of the safe. It has worked very well. I did change to an ACE folding stock as the wood stock didn't work for me.

Overall, I have found that a well put together AK with nice furniture and good metal finish is much better than a cheaper one that is just cheap. WASR may be better now, but the one I had years ago was pretty bad.

VZ isn't an AK as other have pointed out.

WASRs are OK as long as there's not a huge amount of front-to-back mag wobble (side-to-side is an easy fix). Earlier this year I bought a WASR for $550 OTD and converted into a side-folding AKM clone. Good stuff. I've always heard bad things about IO AKs so I'd stay away from them.

Just for grins and snickers, look up an AMD63/65 with fixed stock... just for grins mind you...

I bought a VZ2008 a couple years ago. Darn thing had chronic failure to feed. :banghead: I have yet to have time to get the feed ramp polished, which I believe is the problem. I do have two others which function fine. The VZ is a fine weapon when it works.

I do marginally prefer the AK design though. Anyway, let's keep this thread open for updates on the models. But I did find a lightly used 2014 manufacture WASR10 with the new updates - the new RAK1 trigger which is really tight and crisp, and the blonde furniture. It also came from the buyer with a Damage Ind rail, bayonet, sling, pistol grip, and magpul forward grip. All in all, this was close to an $800 retail package for $500! I put these on and a light and mount I had.

Heading to the range this weekend to test it.

The flashlight just doesn't look right on an AK. I understand the need to see a target, though.

Nice rifle!
