We went to the farm and she brought a couple of guns that she had gotten from a family member. When she opened her bag she pulled out a 40 cal Sig which is of course a nice gun. Then she reached in again and pulled out a Colt Anaconda with a (9" barrel)! Needless to say she had my attention.
Pristine gun for sure and she said it had maybe been fired ten times. I have an Anaconda , 6", but she had no idea what she has in her possession.
She does now!

I have always enjoyed shooting 44 Mag and own several. This one was very good and I could see shooting it a lot if I had it. Of course it's not practical for much of anything but gawking and shooting targets but it sure is a fine piece of equipment.
I think her family may have quite a few nice guns but she isn't really a gun person. She keeps the Sig by her bed but hasn't shot it much either so she wanted to get in some practice. Her technique was excellent and she was mad that her accuracy was off. I think she understands that you can't shoot every five years and maintain good accuracy. She had no problem with the Colt or any of the others we took to the farm, from .22LR up to a Redhawk. Her favorite, like most, was the PMR-30. Loud, accurate and plenty of capacity makes for a fun gun.

Boy of boy. I bet you could reach out and touch a critter with that long of a barrel. nice

I didn't even know that 9" Anacondas existed.
Thanks for showing it to us. You're responsible for a lot of keyboard drool, you know.

I have not been able to find any reference to a 9" Anaconda anywhere. I didn't measure the barrel so maybe it is really 8"? Either way it is an amazing firearm and I have told her how valuable, and I don't mean monetarily, it is. If I get a chance I will measure the barrel and confirm that it is 9".

We have another session lined up for next week and I am curious as to what she will pull out of that bag. If she pulls out another jewel like this one then I might just ask her to marry me. I will check out the gun more closely and verify the barrel length.

Omigod! You found a real woman. Such a rare and beautiful thing.;) Take very good care of her. If she takes you into her garage and shows you an M 60 or a Ma Deuce we want pictures.

The largest Anaconda I'm aware of has an 8 3/8" barrel. It looks something like this:

Sorry guys but the gun has an 8" barrel, not a 9'. She was told it was 9'( of course all the expected jokes were thrown about) but got out the measure last night and it is 8". She was disappointed and I explained that it really didn't matter since the gun is a family heirloom and will never be for sale. The value is sentimental in this case so a 6" barrel is just as valuable as an 8" barrel.
Sorry to get everybody drooling.
