What's your deer hunting rifle

It would be my Winchester model 70 classic featherweight in 6.5x55. Absolutely love that rifle.

Me - 2008 Model 70 in .270Win Leupold VX3
Son - Bi-Centennial Ruger M77 in .30-06 fixed 4X Lyman "All American" Scope (handed down to him by his grandfather)
Daughter - Ruger M77 MK2 in .243Win

However, we normally hunt in a shotgun only zone. When we do, it's just cheap 870 express guns in 20 and 12, along with the "long range" shotgun, a HR single shot 20 with a bull barrel and thumb hole stock.

Well, mine isnt anything too fancy,:)just an old marlin mod. 30AS in 30/30W.C.F. I have a Mini 14,but .223 is a bit light:( ,and a S.M.L.E. in .303 but that thing is NO fun to shoot:uhoh:(Those old Tommys had to be some tough S.O.B's ) and wandering through the woods with an A.K.47 with a 30 round banana mag.would just be silly.:neener: so the lever action is the go to deer gun:evil:

For deer and similar sized game my favorite is probably a custom Argentine Mauser in 25-06.
Douglas barrel, Timney trigger and 6x Leopold. Wish I knew who did the work because they did a masterful job.

AR15 topped with a vortex viper, 55 gr. Soft point bullets. I make high neck and head shots out to 200yds.

My Dad (1922 - 2004) bought me this Winchester Legacy model in 1995. Since then, it has been my companion on many hunting adventures. This big 'un took two quick shots through the chest organs to knock it down. Chest cavity looked quite ghastly.

30-30 is a KEEPER!

I just saw Gun Stories on Wed where they featured the Remington model 8. It was available in .35 Rem. Talk about a sweet svelte semi-auto. I could see where that might fit this list.

For the past 20 years the only rifle I've used for deer is a Browning A-Bolt in 7mm Rem Mag.

It has a Pentax 3-9 Lightseeker on top that I purchased at the same time as the rifle.

When I write that down it makes my setup seem really old...but you'd never know by looking at it. I don't have even the slightest need to upgrade it...it just keeps doing everything I ask of it.

I've had my Stainless Stalker A Bolt II in .270 Win for 11 years: it started out with a Leupold vx-II in 3-9x40, but I have since installed a CDS vx-3 4.5-14x40LR on it.

As far as deer go, It's always worked.

Looks to be a Marlin 1895GS in .45-70.
You are correct sir. This was taken after it's first hunt. Small but tasty buck.

I don't usually have both butt cuff and sling on it at the same time. I just did it for this photo.

I've killed more game, whitetail, mule deer, pronghorn, and a few others, with a Model 70 .257 Roberts than any other gun I own.

Savage 11 in 308 with Redfield scope. I have done a handful of upgrades to the rifle and it is a sweet rifle to shoot and always fills the freezer with venison. This weekend I smoked a venison roast and a pork butt. The venison was the tastiest by far!

If I had to pick one, Remington Mohawk action chambered in 6 mm BR Rem; barrel and action trued by Hart; fiberglass stock, Leupold VXIII 2.5-8.

Lightweight and will outshoot many rifles weighing five lbs more.
