Just took a NIB Glock 17 gen 4 to the range. This is my first gen 4 but I have 4 Glock's. That does not make me an expert.
Before I left I changed to connector to a 3.5lb which I had and grabbed 200 of my reloads. I have never had any problems with my reloads with any glock I own (G21-G30-G26). None of my glocks are picky eaters.
2 of the first 10 were failure to feed. I wasn't really concerned, break-in, new barrel, reloads I can work that out. I did think it was a bit inaccurate but that again could just be me, new gun, different grip I'll adjust.
After about 100 rnds I had another feed problem. Looking down I find the upper pin (locking block pin) ready to fall out of the right side. Just a bit unnerving. Field strip, looking for damage or a problem and found none. Reassembled another 75 rnds not only flawless but significantly more accurate. Pin remained tight and in place.
I would be happy if I were the cause but I can't figure out how or why. The only possibility I can think of is reversing the order of assembling pins the first time, maybe leaving the slide stop lever spring above rather than below the smaller upper pin. I'm not even sure it possible to do that but I'm at a loss.
Any comments, suggestions or solutions (other than take it to a gunsmith and only use factory ammo) would be appreciated.
