Someone sent me a link on a good place to buy good ammo at a very reasonable cost, Freedom Munitions. I've never come across them being talked about on here as my researching is still ongoing. Basically I'm wondering if anyone has experience with them & how there ammo really is?

There site: freedommunitions.com & I hope it's ok for me to post that link. I also hope this is written in the correct spot, lol!

Thank You,

We have a store front for them in Houston, TX - the ammo is not bad, most all of it goes bang and the price is good. I have bought a lot of their remanufactured ammo, not the cleanest and the velocities seem to be on the lower end of the cartridge for caliber. In the 9mm, 40 S&W, and 10mm I can't say it is the most accurate - but if using for steel gongs it is good... I have read that their brass (on new ammo) is not good for reloading on other forums (have seen this on Brian Enos for 9mm mainly). But, if I am low and want to go to the range I do not hesitate to drive by the store front and get what I need! If ordering I prefer Georgia Arms ammo, a little more expensive, but seems to be a little higher quality. Just my two cents!

They own Xtreme Bullets (or the two companies are the same) and lots seem to love the Xtreme Bullets for reloading...

In the past, when it were easier for New Yorkers to order ammo on line, I had purchased and used .223, .308, .38 and .45 flavors of theirs, the reloaded series. Accuracy was acceptable for plinking, and all went "bang". Wouldn't use it for competition, but for taking the nephews out it was fine, and affordable. Given the chance, I would purchase from them again.

I have fired a few hundred of their remanufactured and a few thousand new. The ammo is accurate, reliable and cleaner burning than many others I have tried.

As mentioned above their cases have a step on the inside to prevent bullet set back.

I have no problems with their new 9mm and 38spl. Idid have a problem with remanufactured 38spl brass splitting. I called the company and they offered a full refund or replacement with new, my choice. I took the new and have been buying their new ammo since then.

I have shot several thousand new and reman Freedom 9mm and .45ACP. Couldn't be happier, haven't had any issues at all.

I have shot thousands of 9mm and .223 rounds with only a few problems.
The 9mm has had a few failure to fully eject, possibly due to a light load.?
The .223 has had a few primers blow out and end up jamming the bolt in my AR and my sons AR.

These problems were few and far between, I just using them at the range for fun so no harm.
I will continue to buy them.

I've used their 9, 40 and 45 ammunition. They do seem to be lighter loads, and I do have failures to eject from time to time with them where I don't with other ammo. It's not an issue at the range, especially if the cost difference is enough to make up for it. If I can get other ammo I haven't had this issue with at a comparable cost, I buy that ammo.

I've shot through 1000 remanufactured 9mm 115 and about 500 remanufactured 124 hp. Zero issues. I'd buy again and again and again.

My same response from another forum that I will copy here for others:

I've shot well over 2000 rds of 9mm, a mix of 115gr and 124gr new, reman, and blaster, almost all through G19s and G26. No issues to report other than an occasional underpowered round that ejects funny. I just ordered another 1000 rds of 115gr new yesterday.

I got a screaming deal on some 500 rounds of remanufactured 150gr FMJ .300 BLK. It all went bang but accuracy was atrocious - it was difficult to even zero.

This.

I've had great results with their handgun ammo, not so much rifle. Just today my bud was shooting some .223 and made the same comment concerning accuracy. That said, it's not sold as match grade so, you get what you pay for.

I got a bad batch of 300 BLK but they replaced it at no cost to me, and the new batch works.

1000's of reload 9mm w/o a hiccup

Per the title, at least 2.5K rounds of 115 gr 9mm out of my glock 19 over the last 2 years. No issues with FTF or FTE. Accuracy from 25 ft to 25 yds is good enough for me. Chrono results are comparable to commercial loads as far as I've read. Some folks have posted concerns about high pressures based on primer strikes, but chrono'd results don't bear that out. I guess this suggests high initial pressures (I don't re-load, so what this means about the powder Freedom uses, is greek to me). Every struck primer out of my glock looks the same, so I can't echo those concerns. I am happy with their re-loaded 9mm and will buy again.

I have shot many of their 9mm rounds (usually the "Blaster" grade remanufactured) and never had any issues. I just shot some (1-200) of their .223 and it was pretty clean and accurate. I have also shot some .38 Special with no issues.

Would definitely buy again.

I've shot a few hundred rounds of both 9 mm and .223 and haven't had an issue. I sued the .223 in a carbine class where we went through over 200 rounds and only 1 failure to fire. I'd buy it again for range ammo.

Thank you all for the replies. One question tho, what's the difference between reman & new besides a few bucks? Is it worth it to buy new even if its just for piece of mind?

Fyi, most if not all this ammo will be shot at paper targets at the range with a Ruger SR9 with 1100 rounds thru it so far.

SeniorXJ I just saw this thread. I live in the Houston area and have shot many thousands of remanufactured ammo from Freedom in 9, 40 and 45. For me it has been great practice ammo as well as ammo that I have used in classes. They have basically 3 categories: new, remanufactured, and blaster. Blaster is remanufactured (and maybe new as well) that has some kind of blemish that makes the round fail their quality control process.

I have had an occasional issue with blaster ammo. For example, I've encountered a couple of rounds (and I can't remember which of the three calibers it was now) that failed to seat fully, like maybe they hadn't been sized or (more likely) crimped properly.

I just pulled or pried them out and kept going. No big deal. As with anything, YMMV, but for the price, it has always been decent practice ammo.
