    Key chain flashlights?

These are absolutely bomb proof. I’ve owned them for years. I have a few Eigers that look like they’ve been dragged across the desert, yet light up perfectly. Epoxy potted heads. O rings. I use recharchable batteries of Lithium AAA batteries only. The light output of the Ultra, with 3.7v...

    6” 1959 Colt Python? thoughts

I’ve owned several pythons. Starting with blued ones up to the previous generation stainless. Always traded them off. Never could get used to the trigger. Shot fine. Absolutely gorgeous. But the trigger, for me, sucked. I’ve got one 1970’s nickel 4” left. I don’t shoot it. But, it deserves to...

    Colt Detective special 38spl

I know it actually works pretty well. But, in the old days, trigger guards were round. And, occasionally got flattened when a suspect bumped his head into one. There was a gunshop in our area that actually had a mandrel for K frames to reshape them. While you wait.

Striker fired 'non commanded discharges' again in the news

That’s rather disturbing. Not just the fact that if you needed it, it wouldn’t work. The primed case will tell a lot.

Striker fired 'non commanded discharges' again in the news

Wait. How many times have you had a dead trigger issue? I’m going to guess the striker slipped off the sear and, you were a properly functioning striker safety away from an uncommanded discharge!

My slight apprehension with striker fired guns

    As I have done.

My slight apprehension with striker fired guns

There are some who will argue that it doesn’t. I’ve had mixed results testing that theory. I, personally, think there’s a better than even chance it will.

22LR "Practice Pieces", Do You Have Any?

    You bet. A Colt “Ace” conversion unit I put on a dedicated Colt frame. A S&W model 18. A Colt .22 Diamondback A Ruger 22/45 And even a J frame 3” 650. .22 mag with a fitted .22 lr cylinder.

My slight apprehension with striker fired guns

I’ve been issued a Glock 35 and a Glock 22. And, personally owned a few other Glocks. They never went off unless I wanted them too. Perfectly decent guns. And, they are partially cocked. As are the Kahr pistols I’ve owned. I bought a P365. Amazing little gun for its size, weight, capacity...

    Kephart Tribute knife

I make my own holsters. The ones I post, are very good holsters. There is also an even bigger pile of really bad holsters. And pieces of holsters. I have, unquestionably, spent more on making holsters if you include my time, than if I’d just bought Milt Sparks holsters to begin with…😒

Saving a 1975 Rusty Crusty Colt GCNM? suggestions

I broke on of those stupid colleted bushings at a shooting school. Youd think the slide had beeen welded on. Didn’t have any tools handy so I got it mostly disassembled and was able to beat the back of the slide with my palm to drive it off. It finally let go and I sliced the palm of my hand...

    Hot 9mm factory ammo

I wonder how it differs from this stuff? It’s a screaming hot 1300 fps round also. I’m a big fan.

Saving a 1975 Rusty Crusty Colt GCNM? suggestions

Can’t really tell what’s going on with the finish. It seems “cloudy” in places. I rarely suggest this. But, you might try a little Flitz. On a microfiber rag. Gently. Flitz says it’s not abrasive. It is. People will tell you it won’t hurt factory blue. Yes it will. It will remove it. But...

Drawing against a gun pointed at you test

Two ways to up your odds. Ask a question, hopefully one that piques his interest and makes him think, even briefly. “Oh crap! Don’t shoot! Do you want my wallet or my Rolex?!!” You have briefly interrupted his OODA loop..as soon as his mind is engaged in your question, start moving, drawing...

    Kephart Tribute knife

Since Flat Rock is, as close as possible, duplicating an original Kephart, this thread should answer your question. Full specs in the thread. https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/original-kephart-on-ebay.938944/

    Kephart Tribute knife

Interesting that you put lightening holes in the tang. Do you have any reason to believe the original had that? Was it based on the “feel” of the original? Your gut feeling that it balanced better? Better epoxy adhesion? I think it’s a great idea to keep the overall weight down a little for...

    Wheelin’ N’ Dealin’ Pains

Honestly? Your price was so far off at $1000, I wouldn’t make a counter offer. I’d assume you would be insulted at $350-400. A nice Colt detective Special or M36 are worth way more than the Colt 25. 2-3X depending on condition.

    Full Size Carry

When I first got sworn, I carried my duty gun, a 1911 off duty. In a Milt Sparks Roadrunner. Two extra mags. A BDU shirt with the sleeves torn off. And….it slowly, over the years became less. A 3” 65. A Detonics. A Glock 19. Now, several things have occurred. My shoulders don’t like going...

    Can anyone ID Grashorn grips?

I have several of his grips. One set of inserts for an SP101 developed a crack. All the way through. I sent him pictures and, he shipped a new set out that day. I told him any time I mentioned his grips, I would repeat that story. I suppose this is the last time I will do that. 🙁

Striker fired 'non commanded discharges' again in the news

I do. But, only a couple Sigs with DAK triggers. It’s really just a flat revolver in my opinion. Hammer down. DA for every shot. Can’t forget to decock. Ride my thumb on the hammer when reholstering. I’ve got a P365. With the manual safety. I’ll carry it appendix for a day or two. Recognize...
