    Options for DAO

S&W had a few compact DAO in their semi-autos in the 90's but they are a bit hard to find in good shape.

    1911 suggestions please

Try Tisas . All of their guns are forged and their small parts are milled. No MIM parts at all. I have a few and they made a believer out of me.

    Options for DAO

I have 2 of the best DAO pistols in my opinion which are the Beretta PX4 and the Beretta 92D . Both eat all kinds of ammo and their triggers are lighter than a traditional DA/SA gun .

Beretta Px4 Subcompact review (alot of pics)

I have the fulsize and compact in 9, 40 , and 45. All my slides are stamped with MADE IN ITALY. I see your slide marked MADE IN USA. I have never seen that in a PX4. Maybe it has something to do with it being the traditional tilt-barrel design.

    Dot failed mid-qualifying. :(

I am the old school kind of guy at work. I like fixed sights. They had to put a red dot on my rifle and there was no way around it. Well after a few months of it being on there , the batteries leaked and corroded and ate up body of the red dot assembly so bad that it was trash. Always have some...

    Battle of the Behemoth .45s

How about the big Beretta PX4 in .45acp ? Rotating barrel with an outstanding and robust action system.

Tisas CMP 1911A1: Most Accurate WWII Reproduction 1911?

I recently bought 2 of the same kind of Tisas 1911 that is posted here. Both were $299 from Classicfirearms. Looks like they still have them for the same price. I got one and realized how well they were made. All small parts are milled and not cast. So I bought another one. These are a great...

Tisas CMP 1911A1: Most Accurate WWII Reproduction 1911?

What is so big about having that written on it ?

Tisas CMP 1911A1: Most Accurate WWII Reproduction 1911?

I am a bit confused here. I saw that the original poster said that Tisas is making a 1911 for the CMP. I thought that the CMP was a program that you could join and buy old surplus guns. Tisas makes very inexpensive but well made guns. Why not just buy a new Tisas without going through this ?

    Glock 28

No the 28 does not use the same recoil spring as the 25. The 25 has a single spring. The 28 has a dual recoil spring.

    Rock island 1911

Try a Tisas 1911. After 2022 they switched to all forged frames and slide , and milled components. No cast or MIM parts. You can't beat that !

    Taurus G3C is pretty good

I am not sure I made a thread on this before. I got a G3C a year ago and it was great and reliable. I ended up selling it. This week there was a sale on them at a local hardware store for $199. I got one and this time I'm keeping it. These guns are reliable and made just as well as other...

    Best 380 pistol

Glock 25 . It is .380acp in a Glock 19 sized gun. Extremely reliable and fits in all holsters that a Glock 19 would. Recoil is very soft.

90s era single-stack .45s, which would you choose?

The Glock 36 was the red-headed step-child of Glock. They had a lot of trouble. It was the first Glock I ever heard about jamming until the Glock 42 was born.

    Xds mod2 45 or Glock 23 gen 5…NOT a caliber argument

The XDS in 45acp is what the Glock 36 should have been. I have Glocks and I have XD's. I'd pick the XDS45 if I were you.

    Taurus GX2

The magazines that come with this new GX2 are horrible looking. Near the top of them on the rear it looks like they have been crumpled up and then flattened back out. I like Taurus but this is horrible and with them being better and making better products I am surprised they allowed these...

    Beretta PX4 Storm

That is a pretty good price on it if it is new in box.

    Hk p30sk v3 ??

The right side slide-stop lever tends to get a bit loose and slightly rattles and moves around. They all do this so I removed mine. No more rattles plus I'm right handed and don't need that lever.

    Beretta Storm series

I have the PX4 in 9mm , .40S&W , and in .45acp. I also just got another in .45acp that is double-action-only with a factory bobbed hammer. It is like a semi-auto revolver. Pretty neat.

    BODYGUARD 2.0

I wanted this pistol but my Ruger LCP will do the same. If I need a bigger load of .380ACP my Glock 25 will do the job.
