    Taurus 605 extractor issues?

So I got a Taurus 605 a few weeks ago against my better judgement but thought I’d give them another shot since my old 85CH fiasco that made me swear off Taurus for years. Well, this one has a problem I’ve never seen before. While ejecting the .38 Special cases this morning, the extractor now is...

    NiB Taurus Model 942 3" 22lr

I got a 3” 942 on the way from KYGunCo. I called to see if they got one on hand and got the last one they had in stock so I ordered it on the spot. Unfortunately, my FFL had to snail mail a new copy of their FFL to them so that’s delaying things a bit. My main purpose is for low-cost DA...

Why the plastic on the 1911 Colt Commander?

Okay sheriff, ya got me, I confess. 🤪 I do have to admit I wasn’t as happy about the safety detent springs on my Tisas. They seemed kind of mushy. Still serviceable and I’d bet not a lot of folks would know the difference but I wanted a little better. I admit I pulled out the mushy Turkish...

Why the plastic on the 1911 Colt Commander?

If you like Rock Island, you’d love Tisas! So far I have a Raider and Tank Commander in .45ACP and one of the MAC JSOC clone. All of them are forged steel with no plastic or MIM parts other than the recoil spring plunger. They have all been solid performers and my Tank Commander is one of my...

The end of the J-frame era

I still have my S&W 642-1 that sees duty as a quick “toss it in a pocket” option for a quick run to town. Violent crime in rural North Dakota is pretty rare but can never be ruled out entirely. Its other purpose is as a backup in a Galco ankle rig. One thing it excels at that is problematic...

MAC M2 Tactical Shotgun / Well made Turkish copy of the Benelli M2 - only one minor issue

Did you try the shoelace trick? Tie a shoelace around the bolt handle as close to the bolt body as you can and try to pull it out using the lace as a little extra leverage. Don’t worry, my Benelli M2 tactical is the same way as well.

    S&W vs Ruger Vs Taurus

Well, I hope I didn’t just step in it. After my experience with my old 85CH lead spitter, I was pretty much done with Taurus. Now I have always been an auto shooter although I could still get by with a revolver, however, the DA trigger is something I have to keep working on. The price of .357...

    DAO .32 Pocket Rocket

I have an old Gen. 1 P32 and had a NAA Guardian. My little Kel-Tec has been 100% reliable since day 1 and still sees some summertime carry or as a backup in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster although my S&W Bodyguard 2.0 has been taking over a bit more of the backup duties these days. Small...

    Concealed Speed Loader Carry

For those that have used the “split-six” style carriers, have you ever had a problem with using the Safariland Comp II/III loaders with a belt depressing the release button in the middle of the speed loader and dropping the ammo out of the loader?

Anyone buy a Girsan MCP35 recently?

I got 2 of them, a standard and PI model. Both have had no issues and by removing the magazine safety, the trigger is vastly improved. Not quite as nice as my SA35 or ‘61 FN Hi-Power but that could be accounted for in that Girsan uses the later MkIII design with a firing pin safety the other 2...

    S&W vs Ruger Vs Taurus

I used to own a Taurus 85CH that would occasionally fail to fire if you pulled the trigger slowly as the cylinder wouldn’t time correctly. Then when it would fire, it would occasionally shave off lead and spit it back at my face. Yeah, that one went down the road as trading fodder for a S&W 642...

Do you have a colored gun?

From the hideous files I present you the “bedazzled Glock” I seen a couple weeks ago in one of the gun stores in Fargo. 🤢

    Cheep Hi Powers

Fortunately it’s an easy task to pull the magazine safety out. Not quite as easy as my Star BM, but still not really a problem.

    Cheep Hi Powers

I got 2 Girsans and love them. Well, now that like my FN Hi-Power has had their magazine safeties removed I love them anyways. The trigger isn’t as light as my FN or SA35 because the Girsans include the later MKIII style firing pin block design. While you don’t get as nice of a trigger as the...

Dyslexic Brain Needs Help With SA-35 Sights

Move the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet hole to go and the front sight is moved to “chase the bullet hole” depending on which sight you want to adjust.

Striker fired 'non commanded discharges' again in the news

I was kind of leary about adding a P320 to my .45 ACP collection due to all the bad press about uncommanded discharges. After I watched the excellent videos from Sig Mechanic that 243winxb posted in post #19 of how the parts interact, I don’t have any fear about this really being an issue as...

    Historical 39A accuracy

I got a 39A back in ‘92 when I was stationed at Camp Lejeune from a pawn shop out on town. The rear sight was missing the elevation elevator so I replaced it with a Marbles buckhorn sight. Several years later I got a good deal on a 39M carbine. That one had problems extracting because the...

    Cold weather handguns.

My gun of choice, especially in the winter is the HK USP. Accurate, dead reliable, 12 rounds of .45ACP is a decent load and most importantly, the controls are large enough that a heavy glove can manipulate and the trigger guard, especially when carried cocked-and-locked, is a cavern! I have no...

specific shot gun for specific task, whats yours?

Well, I have a Stoeger 3500 for Canadian geese in the fall, a Mossberg 930 Snowgoose for the spring snowgoose season, a Stoeger 3000 for duck and pheasant, a Stoeger 3020 for pigeons, doves, rabbits and smaller game. I also have a Rossi hammered coach gun I used for cowboy action shooting years...

    Panzer M4

I have both the Panzer M4 and the MAC 1014 as well as a MAC M2 and none of them have had any problems. I also have a Benelli M2 that I should say is better than my Turknelli copy but if my clones are chugging along with the same level of reliability as my Italian gun, how are they inferior...
