My experience with the XTP is that they do not expand as well as the FTX-
Below is a pic of a blood trail from a large whitetail buck shot threw the heart at 75 yards with the 500 S&W with a stout 300 gr FTX load- ....pieces of heart in the snow-
Now- on really tough game you may want the XTP...
I have a John Wayne 94 in 32-40....it shoots awesome! ...and I won't own a gun I don't shoot! ....and I don't sell guns so really don't care if it goes up or down in value-
If you want one and can afford it....BUY IT....and enjoy it-

My CZ Varmint shoots nickel size groups at 100 with just about any ammo- BUT in zero wind....and they drop like a stone at 150 yrds-
Super trigger right out of the box-
Nothing worse than waiting behind a guy on the clays course stand jacking shells in and out of a semi that won't cycle low brass shells or is dirty and won't function!
If you are serious about clays buy an over and under!
