Ammo Spec Discrepancy on Hornady's Website

    I don’t know.

    Shooter, Collector, or Accumulator?

Over the decades, I have accumulated a diverse collection of shootable firearms. I guess it’s a bit of all three choices. 😇 Stay safe.

    Short barreled bolt guns

My only short barreled bolt gun is a Ruger M-77 RSI in .243. Shooting .243 through an 18.5 barrel is pretty loud with factory ammo. Sure is handy, though. 😀 Stay safe.

Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

No worries, some states offer things others don’t. I just spent a week in NYC, home of only two gun stores in a city of 8.5 million. I have at least 20 different places to buy guns or ammo in a 25 mile radius of my house. Compared to those subjects, I’m doing ok. Stay safe.

Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Got back from NYC to find my .308 die set on the porch. Went to Sportsman’s Warehouse and took nearly 3 hours between standing around waiting (2) and filling out the paperwork (1) on the M1A Scout Squad I ordered a little while ago. Now ten days until I get to go back and stand around again...

    Dry Media Cleaning with Primers?

I tried it with about 300 .38 Spl cases. There were chunks of media in the flash holes of dozens of cases. Did zilch to clean the primer pocket, too. I prefer to clean then resize-deprime myself. YMMV. Stay safe.

Midway alert, the U is no more

Indeed! Our county Fire Marshal is, allegedly, really goofy on the merchants when it comes to the amount of powder they can have on hand for sale. There is no way these retailers could have the amount of stocked powders on hand like some of the other shop pictures have shown on THR. Based on...

    Springfield 6.5x55 part deux

Cool! I haven’t seen that one, next time I need some I will look for it. Hope it works out. 👍 Stay safe.

    Springfield 6.5x55 part deux

Did it foam up a lot when you had it cure? I’ve used GG a few times and it seems to like forming a crusty foam residue at the joints as it cures. Hope it turns out well, that’s too cool a gun to be forever damaged. Stay safe.

Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

I spent the last five days in NYC, no gun stuff for me out here. But I did drive past the Beretta Gallery on Madison Avenue yesterday. (Its couple blocks from Central Park). Unfortunately, it is closed on Mondays or I would have stopped...

Any brands you once looked down on?

Back when I was a divorcee’ and money was tighter, I bought a used stainless Rossi 5-shot snub .38 as a spare I left at my Mom’s house for when I visited. Not impressed, the cylinder wasn’t square and after several cylinders were fired in succession the gun would heat up and it would drag on...

Apparently, saber armed cavalry is still thing in 2025.

As soon as the words “mostly peaceful” appear, it’s a riot. Glad to see how much folks want illegal, unfettered immigration . Stay safe.

Apparently, saber armed cavalry is still thing in 2025.

They were short lived for a reason. Very tough to use while being easy to grab onto and lose. I preferred my straight stick over the PR 24, no protruding handle to knock around and get hung up with. Doing witness/dignitary protection, a 12” ASP was my baton of choice. Super discreet. Stay...

    Bear Loads, Really?

I wear a 2”+ scar on the inside of my right calf from diving like Superman over a barbed wire fence because of a cow. I was walking back to my house from college up in Humboldt County, Ca., the route took me up a hill and across a large field with a herd of dairy cows. Well, I crested a...

Midway alert, the U is no more

Nope. Been aware for a while. I was just saying I got that notice from midway so it’s further proof we are to be missing out. 😔 Stay safe.

    Old Beater Leverguns

The only beater lever gun I have came pre-beaten by its prior owner. It’s a “Golden Spike” commemorative that the prior owner added a sling to and rode it hard. He gave it to my Dad as partial payment for something or another, and he gave it to me. It is, to be kind, a mess. Other than that...

Midway alert, the U is no more

As much as I love Unique, I’ve been using it and Bullseye almost exclusively since day one of my reloading ventures, the Alliant powder drought really did expose me to a much wider variety of powders than I would have otherwise. HP-38/Win 231, AA#2, 5 and 7, IMR Target (blah!) and also Power...

    M1A Scout Squad.

I had to buy the Scout Squad with the SA “muzzle brake”, so it could be sold in Ca. No idea what the difference between the two is, I guess I’ll find out when I get to see it. My buddy had a Socom, MAN that thing was loud. I don’t expect a whole lot fewer decibels with the Scout, it’ll be a...

Does the Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. v. Estados Unidos Mexicanos ruling set any protection precedent for AR15's (so-called assault weapons)?

One decision too late, as they just let the AW ban in two cases they refused to hear last week. https://www.scotusblog.com/2025/06/supreme-court-declines-to-hear-gun-control-challenges/ Hopefully one will finally be heard and decided once and for all. Stay safe.

Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

2K Remington LPP, 100 25 yard slow fire pistol targets, a set of .308 dies and 4 Check Mate 10 round M1A magazines. (Kinda all over the place this week 🤔 .) Stay safe.
