help me pick a new range gun

All of the guns in the poll are fine choices for range time. However were I buying one today, it would be one of the recently released full size Canik pistols. Several models to choose from depending on one's wants and desires.

    Trash or Treasure? Sig P230

Yes, that is a very good price. Congratulations. One of the variants was from Sig's old "Gun of the Month" offerings. This was in the odd but beautiful Rainbow Titanium finish. Only a few hundred made I think. It's the one on top.

    Trash or Treasure? Sig P230

FYI the P230-32b .32acp mags are identical to the .380acp mags. No difference. Still hard to find and expensive overall but there are no specific .32 mags. Op, nice find. Truely you now have one of the classics. Reliable, accurate, sexy and concealable. One of my personal favorite models. Enjoy.

Walther Bringing Back the 'PP' in 380ACP & 32ACP!

If you are commenting on my photo of the P230-32-b, that target is from the original test fire, and came in the case, but I agree... good shooting.

Walther Bringing Back the 'PP' in 380ACP & 32ACP!

I'd love to have a new Walther PP but that near $1000 price would scare me away. The Sig P230-32-b is indeed a nice shooting pistol, perhaps a bit softer shooting than the PP due to a slightly fuller grip. A very nice alternative to the PP is the somewhat rare Daewoo DH380. All steel...

    H&K P7, OMG!

It partially bought a cruise to celebrate my 50th anniversary. The wife actually got to see some return on the tens of thousands of dollars spent on my gun collecting.

    H&K P7, OMG!

I sold my P7 M8 about 6 months ago for $2800. M13 in my area goes for nearer $4000. Crazy money. Mags are very dear too.

    Springfield Inc. XDm 5.25

I have both 9mm and .45acp. They are two of my favorite range guns and serve double duty as my go to home defense pistols. Always dependable and quite accurate. They sport Crimson Trace laser/ light accessories.

What are your favorite large size .380s?

My second carry in the 1970s was a Astra Constable. It never failed. I carried a Beretta 84 for a while. It is an excellent pistol. Occasionally carried a Sig 232 when my back forced me into a shoulder holster. Another great carry gun. One of my favorites is a fairly rare Daewoo DH380. All...

    Kel Tec P-17

Glad you like it. I've had one for about a year. It works and as you say is pretty accurate. My two negatives are the harder to load mags, (compared to most other modern 22s) and the fact that you need a tool to dismantle for cleaning. Competent, fun and cheap other than that. Enjoy.

Walther PP vs Makarov PM vs… Everything Else

I've owned and or shot most of the guns mentioned in this thread and agree with most of what's been shared and compared. The Walther will always be a sentimental favorite. I admire and respect it's originality and "first of it's kind" design. I don't think anyone can deny the beautiful sleek...

    Leaning Towards a Springfield 9mm XDM-Elite

I was given a XDM 5.25 Elite in .45acp. It wasn't a gun I'd have bought for myself... until I shot it a few times. I was very impressed and pleased. So impressed I did find and purchase the 9mm caliber of the same gun. Both have become favorite range guns and more importantly become my two...

    5.7 Time

I've only fondled the Walther, M&P and Ruger. Only the Walther turned me off. I found a reasonably priced FN about 15 years ago. It struck me as a very high quality pistol, easy to shoot well, reliable and unusually clean shooting. I enjoyed it very much. I'll stick with the original for now.

    Buying a Hellcat Pro OSP

I've got a regular Hellcat OSP with a Sig Romeo Zero sight installed. The advantage of having a red dot sight co-witness with the iron sights helps in acquiring the dot when training. The gun has proved very reliable. It is a handful when shooting, as any very small 9mm would be, but the grip...

    Seecamp 32

The .32acp caliber Seecamp was not produced until 1984 or 1985. Prior to then the only available Seecamp was a .25acp. It's a shame the Seecamp forum was allowed to simply vanish. It was a huge source of information and history... much of it communicated by Larry Seecamp himself. I have a...
