I used 6.2 of Trailboss when I started SASS. You could also try my 41 Special loads of 5.0 of AA#2 or 6.2 of Unique, either with a 210 grain bullet. Any less of the Unique was dirty enough to jam the chambers.
My 19-4. I shoot only 140-158gr bullets and magnum level loads, never 38 Special. This model is pinned and recessed and requires that I trim 357 case to 1.265. I had the throats opened, which caused the cylinder plating to peel. Mahovsky's Metalife replated it for me. You can't tell. Grips are...
I don't use target loads in magnum guns. I got weary of cleaning lead or coating from 41 and 44 Magnums and now load only gas checks and XTPs in the 41. The 44 does well enough with moderate loads behind coated lead from Missouri, but not the 41. Yeah, it is costly to shoot a bunch. I have a 44...
My 44 Magnum journey ended with my Super Blackhawk Bisley, originally 7.5, bought as 6. My 41 Magnum is a similar arrangement but on a Flat Top with a Bisley conversion.

I had the older 629 for 44 Magnum, the 657 for 41 magnum in 7.5 and 4 5/8 barrel lengths, and a 5.5" Redhawk in 45 Colt. They are all gone because the Bisley grips on the Super Blackhawk and NMBH Flat Top grip conversion solved all the issues for shooting serious but not crazy loads under gas...
These are my active loads for my 19-4. Note that I had to trim the brass for the recessed cylinder.

I found a few powders that were common to 38+p data and 357 Magnum data. I tried loads that were about halfway between 38 +p max and 357 Mag min. There is a gap between them. Worked fine in my S&W 19-4 that was not the gun I would choose for full power loads like my 586-1M.

I think this must be the one:

That is a good likeness to what I had been using from Penn. It uniquely lacks a leading band (ahead of the crimp groove), which was the solution to other bullets hanging up in my cowboy rifle action...
The number of stations a turret supports could be a reason to accumulate turret presses. You then keep using each one based on how many lever pulls are necessary for the cartridge at hand.
I have run a couple thousand rounds of Trailboss lead through my Uberti Lightning, 20" rifle in cowboy action matches. 3.2 Trailboss with 158 lead and 3.4 with 125 lead. No issues except mechanical with the Lightning pump action as a function of COL and bullet ogive. I hit my targets, no squibs...
For the scenario you describe, I think a Lee Classic Turret would serve well. However, mine is trimmed out with a number of inLine Fab accessories. Priming on the press is no problem. The brass is the variable and some skill in using the swinging Lee primer carrier (when properly adjusted to...
Yep. I pull the decapping stem from the sizing die, actually a spare, and run the cases on my single stage. I could automate more but don't bother. I examine case mouths but am more concerned about damage to lead bullets. I work the burrs on any affected bullets with a small file. Should the...
I sold both of my 1911s. I have a boatload of 45 ACP ammo and reloading stuff for it. Some time ago I also sold the SW625. I have been a revolver guy for quite awhile now and don't do any competition with a 1911. I still have a 10mm version of the SW625 (SW610). Either one was handy in an Alaska...
I won't hijack here but I wonder about your 327 FM cases not running well in your presses. I have a lot of experience with that round and five guns that shoot it. I just loaded 100 rounds in the last two days, 50 XTP and 50 coated Br16 lead. With the M-style expander plug from Lee I was finally...
