    9mm case fail

I can't "show" it to you but it is in an old Speer Reloading manual from the late 80's. Yep, "manuals are dangerous"...

Marlin 60 MOUSE HOUSE -- Part 2 Recovery

    9mm case fail

Based on the discussion here and further research I'll be pulling the rounds. Oddly enough, 4.6 grains of Bullseye was considered a starting load based on the older manuals. Nowadays not so much...

    9mm case fail

Yeah, a double charge would have been 9.2 grains,(4.6g x 2) and that would have been "noticed"...

    9mm case fail

After all the above I took it home, cleaned and lubed the gun and went to test fire it. Factory round fired ok. Tried one round of the reload and that's when the second blown case occurred. After that I pulled a load and confirmed that it was in specs charge weight and OAL.

    9mm case fail

I was shooting some reloads and had two case failures. (See photo) It's old/new Winchester cases, 4.6g of Bullseye with 124g FMJ bullets. I loaded them on a Dillon press but checked the charge weight as I was loading. I also pulled a round yesterday after and the charge was right. Any ideas...

    Flat Rock Kephart arrived...

After much anticipation, (cue Carly Simon song...), my Kephart Tribute knife was delivered today. It's a quality tool and a fitting tribute to HSO. My thanks to Flat Rock for making such a fine knife. Edit to add: Photo credit goes to my wife. The "flat rock" that the knife is on is a piece of...
