I learned from a dad who got ten deer seasons out of one box of 30-06 ammo. He used one shot to clean the spiders out of the barrel and one shot to shoot his deer in the head. It was a lot about meat on the table. I'm mostly in the middle, leaning away from Mr. Tacticool.

I agree completely re: the brake on soft shooters. I took the brake off a Grendel upper a good friend gave me and put it onto the Mossberg 300 Win Mag. It's L O U D, but it's soft shooting now.

I wish I had a good rifle in the straight 7X57. Mine is the AI version. It shoots the 130gr Speer BT @ 3,050 at muzzle and drives tacks. Ammo I loaded 18 years ago for an antelope hunt.
