• Possible Downtime Alert

I am working to migrate THR from the current cluster to a new one. I would like to get this done before the weekend, but it's unclear what the timeframe will be, as testing is still ongoing. As I am writing this the new (rebuilt) host is doing a burn-in to ensure that everything will keep running under load.

When the migration happens users will see a Cloudflare message indicatating it cannot connect to the server. This is expected, and depending on how the migration goes this may last from 30 minutes to 3 hours - I won't know more until testing the various migration options is complete and I have finalized the plan.

More information is available in this thread.

As always, thanks so much for your patience.

LADY SKEET SHOOTERS (any of you HERE)?

OH! I see now! ;) Certainly an interesting tradition. During my first lesson, I hit 10 straight...but from the same box. BUT, at least I'm headin' in the right direction! May be safe...since I seldom wear a hat! ;) Thanks! I'll not be checkin' here for the next week or two, probably for I...

LADY SKEET SHOOTERS (any of you HERE)?

Thanks for your input! Wow, Steve! You're a wealth of information! Not sure what this means, however. Clarification needed. Sorry. I'm flaunting my ignorance! Again, muchas gracias, senor!! :D

LADY SKEET SHOOTERS (any of you HERE)?

Probably not. No need to 'wus' out. It's just a game. ;) A really FUN game...but a game none the less. Thanks for poppin' in ysr_racer.

Opinions on the Bersa Thunder 9 mm

Well, Wally, the deal is sealed. Women have a BIT more trouble finding suitable carry (for ON PERSON) than do men. I had to consider my 57-year-old shape. I think the Bersa 9 will work well. AND, at $399 for the stainless, I really didn't think 'price.' My quest is NOW carry holster. Don't...

LADY SKEET SHOOTERS (any of you HERE)?

To Barbara Another woman, at LAST!! Thanks for your response. Good luck with YOUR trap! My thought is to get the basics of breakin' clays at skeet and trap THEN, perhaps, to move into sporting clays. For our 25th anniversary, my precious hubby offered to buy me a shotgun! Is that not the...

Opinions on the Bersa Thunder 9 mm

A review & Thanks you you folks! Sure! I can manage that. It may be a couple of weeks or so. Perhaps even a bit longer — for I have some photo sessions lined up which require lots of customization. Consider this thread closed for the time being, folks. The deed has been done and I...

Opinions on the Bersa Thunder 9 mm

I see you caught my humor, horge. :D To date, I've bought 4 over the past...4 months? Since the Beretta shotgun is NEXT, I'll HAVE to wait a while before doing any more damage with pistols. (Retired teacher, ya' understand.) However, the quest for the perfect carry method simply MUST...

LADY SKEET SHOOTERS (any of you HERE)?

To Kudu Oh. My standard word is "folks" but "guys" is just popped out. ;) Your shoulders are broad! You can handle it! ;) I've not really participated in these forums before but I've already found THR to be most helpful. Are they BBS's gone wild? Seems that way, really. At any rate...

Opinions on the Bersa Thunder 9 mm

Greetings horge! Hey! Thanks for the info. Love the pic, too. I've ordered the Stainless Bersa 9 and should have it Monday or Tuesday. I hadn't even thought of those after-market things. Can't help but get tickled at the guy who owns my fav shooting range. He's REALLY pushing the "pocket...

LADY SKEET SHOOTERS (any of you HERE)?

So, you're sayin' that I misspelled offense, huh? Sorry 'bout that. Thanks for the welcome, however. I'm thinkin' that I'm in the WAY BIG minority here. Guess most women and guns just don't mix...usually. Oh, well.... Perhaps a few will eventually surface.

LADY SKEET SHOOTERS (any of you HERE)?

Hey, Ladies! I'm looking for others with a common interest and am new to SKEET shootin.' Live north of Houston. If you're into SKEET, and are another woman, let me know. No offence, guys, but, there are SOME times, we just need to hear from another woman! ;) I'm hoping to soak up as much...

Opinions on the Bersa Thunder 9 mm

Thanks, JimL3. I'll drop by the shop on my way to tactical shooters this afternoon/tonight and take a look and ALL of the options one more time. I appreciate your suggestions. What I need to do now, probably, is close the thread, I suppose. Let's see....

Opinions on the Bersa Thunder 9 mm

In reply to rde I know the XD subcompact is EXCELLENT! I just advised my friend who is a new CHL to get one BUT...she'll carry in a fanny pak. That will better 'hide' the pistol's..."huskiness." I'm preferring to carry on my body — and think, like it's 4" brother, it wouldn't do terribly...

OpenRoad, you're appreciated! Thanks to you guys (literally), I think I have what I need. Now it's just a matter of one last conceal attempt. Then, I'll order the stainless Bersa 9!

Opinions on the Bersa Thunder 9 mm

I really do appreciate your input, hksw! Yes, it's wide...but at least it's more rounded than the XD-9! Sounds as though, so far, folks are in favor of the Bersa 9 idea. Still haven't received my Kangaroo holster to try the 4" XD in that...BUT, I fear both the length and 'huskiness' of the...

Opinions on the Bersa Thunder 9 mm

Thanks, Flashpoint! That's the stuff I need to hear. As to the finish, well...my XD-9 4" has a questionable finish, too, BUT...that puppy shoots!! Soft and accurate and I love the grip & trigger safety combo! It just makes a big, 'chunky' print (when carried on my person)! Guess I wouldn't have...

Opinions on the Bersa Thunder 9 mm

Thanks! Perhaps the 9 is newer? I've read LOTS of good things about the .380 but I think the minimum for CCW is a 9. (Well, at least it is in MY book!) It's a happy medium. I appreciate your post. Perhaps some one who actually HAS the 9 will reply eventually. There's nothing like some first...

Opinions on the Bersa Thunder 9 mm

Well, folks, I have a Springfield XD-9 Service 4" and love it BUT...I fear it won't work well as my CCW. A bit too long, perhaps and definitely too "chunky" for my aging frame! Anyway, after much looking, holding, etc., I've about decided to get the Bersa 9. What are your thoughts? Are there...
