How do you keep your direct thread suppressor from backing off?

It's the 18.5" Criterion barrel from Fulton Armory...plenty of shoulder.

How do you keep your direct thread suppressor from backing off?

Teflon tape resists high temps? I don't do mag dumps, but my suppressor gets pretty hot.

    Fulton Armory

I can't speak to the M14 rifles they offer, but both my brother and I bought Criterion barrels from them and are THOROUGHLY satisfied. I have a .308 barrel and he has a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel.

Can you explain the difference between actual chrono numbers and ammo company numbers?

Good question...how CAN one determine if the chronograph is correct? 30-06 wasn't the only ammo or cartridge tested that day. My brother and I shot 3 different factory loadings through his 6.5 Creedmoor, my 30-06, .22 LR (2 different lots of Lapua Pistol OSP), a .223 69-grain handload and a...

How do you keep your direct thread suppressor from backing off?

Pretty simple subject...I shot my 308 AR with my direct thread SAS Arbiter this past weekend to get some test hunting loads zeroed and chronographed. They did great, but at the end of the session (total of 15 rounds) the accuracy went a little haywire. After the last shot was done, I checked...

Saw a felony at the gun show today

I wouldn't put it past the ATF. Bryan Malinowski was a blatant assassination, but it didn't stop them from doing it. Edited to correct spelling.

Can you explain the difference between actual chrono numbers and ammo company numbers?

Positive...it's not a factory rifle. My Grandpa made it. He used a CZ Mauser action, but I have no idea what brand barrel is used.

Can you explain the difference between actual chrono numbers and ammo company numbers?

This is the only 30-06 I have. I don't know anyone else with a 30-06, much less a 24" barrel. I haven't looked either. East Tennessee doesn't need anything so powerful to reach out there. You're lucky if you get a 150 yard shot on a deer.

Can you explain the difference between actual chrono numbers and ammo company numbers?

Today I finally got to chronograph ammo out of the 29" barreled bolt action 30-06 my grandfather gave me decades ago. I've had other priorities, so it's taken a while to get to testing. The ammo I used was Hornady 178 ELD-X and on the box it says 2750 fps from a 24" barrel. My chronograph...

Perhaps LiveLife is right...he was the ATF.

What bullet would you stock up on for 7mm-08?

My Bergara B14 Ridge in 7mm-08 put 5 of the 139 Hornady SPBT Interlocks into a .881" group at 200 yards. It's the only time I ever tried that rifle and ammo at 200 yards. If you load'em right, they'll shoot.

    Suppressor Covers

I have 3 TAB Gear covers. I'm curious why you switched from TAB to Armageddon. Not looking for a debate, just curious.

Maybe Try 2-Gun at the Local Club

Usually the stages are run by the local club. There are divisions depending on the number of optics you have on the rifle or if you have an optic on your pistol, the length of the muzzle device or other stuff. If you're doing it for fun or to get more familiar with your personal equipment, I...

    22 ammo sticker shock

Well, accuracy standards and requirements vary. I have a CZ 457 Varmint (not Pro) that gets ok 5-shot groups out of CCI SV in the .5-.6" ranges fairly consistently, but it's disappointing to know it can do better because I've shot .2"-.3" groups fairly regularly with Lapua Pistol OSP and 1...

Pistol light out past the muzzle?

No problem. I have a Glock 17 at work and we are equipped with Surefire X300 lights that extend beyond the muzzle by about 3/4"-1". It affects nothing. Rock it! Just make sure that when you clean your gun, you also pay attention to the lens of the light because soot does collect on the lens...
