Decide, les baer, wilson combat, ?

A buddy of mine had a Wilson for a while. Very well made gun. Smooth as butter. Shot extremely well. He sold it to fund a couple other nice pistols (Staccato and a Sig 10mm). I cant compare it to a Les Baer, but if your Wilson is anything like my friend's, you wont be disappointed.

    How many inches 22lr?

My 16 inch Bergara B14R does great out to 300+ yards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbkYel_WJh8 Even my 13 year old daughter was doing great with it at distance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_l-tRKCJFs

.223 too powerful for home defense?

From my experience investigating hundreds of burglaries and home invasions over the past nearly 17 years, criminals use tools often. You get a guy who works construction as his day job and he can get in your house very quickly. Loud, but quickly. Sledgehammers, circular saws, ax, pry bars...

    CZ P-10F 45, who knew?

I didnt know they made that. Pretty cool. The P10F in 9mm is a great shooting gun. The P10 in general is a very underrated gun. Let us know how it runs.

.223 too powerful for home defense?

In reality, unless you are spending some serious money on doors and windows, they are fairly easy to breach. Getting in quietly is hard, but a pick ax will open an arcadia door or large window in a few seconds. As far as 223 being to powerful for HD I disagree. Ive seen a lot of people shot...

Longevity of budget vs higher priced AR-15's

In my experience budget ARs do wear out faster than properly built rifles. Cheaper metals, lighter buffers, overgassed barrels, etc... cause accelerated wear on the rifle. When we had Bushmaster duty rifles they would constantly go down because of these reasons. Every training day at least one...

.45 Auto other than 230 grain

My department uses these lead free frangible Winchester rounds for indoor range work. The 175 +P .45 Auto has recoil very similar to a regular 230 grain ball round. Id have to shoot them side by side to tell you a difference. Shooting both 45 and 9mm I have noticed a very little accuracy loss...

Is there a good lightweight AR 15?

Multiple good options. BCM makes lightweight barrelled rifles with lightweight rails. Colt 6720 I believe Daniel Defense makes lightweight barreled rifles. They have some newer lighter weight rails

    Long Range Rifle/Scope/PRS question(s)

Alright guys I got a question for you. Last night I ordered an Arken SH4J 6-24. The original thought was to put it on my Bergara B14R and take the Razor 3-18 off of that rifle and put it on my Remington 700P. The thinking is that the Remington will be shot at much further ranges and the extra...

    Bergara b14 hmr 22-250

Im a big fan of the HMR. Several are owned by friends and they all shoot great. I have a B14R which is basically a 22lr HMR. Im betting a 22-250 HMR will serve you well.

New BCG won't lock back after the last shot

Battery assist device. Its a lever that attaches to the bolt catch latch and gives you the ability to work the catch from the trigger guard.

New BCG won't lock back after the last shot

Im wondering if the gun is just undergassed enough that it will feed but not go back far enough to lock on the bolt catch? Check for gas leaks. Also maybe try the older action spring. Unless the new buffer kit is an A5 system, then keep what it came with. You could also be running into a...

Balrog, i believe I read/heard recently that someone is making an extended safety lever for the rifle. Might be something to look into.

Isn't the forward assist on an AR a dumb idea?

Stoner didn't like it but that's not the first time that engineers and end users disagreed on something. If you are saying you can close the bolt by pushing on the dust cover cut out then you are acknowledging the need to close the bolt. It's just a harder way to do the same thing the FA does.

Isn't the forward assist on an AR a dumb idea?

The FA definitely has it's place on a fighting rifle. When the rifle gets dirty, dry, hot, or worn out it might not function right. Ive seen the bolt fail to fully seat over the years many times and several times were diving to the ground or a big bump in a vehicle caused the bolt to unlock. I...

    Best budget AR

Upper and lower fitment has nothing to do with the quality of an AR15. Some high end companies will hand match the upper and lower to fit perfect, but that's completely an aesthetics type of thing. If it's something that bothers you I would look at several models of the same rifle and find one...
